Hi, I agree absolutely ! I am 5th generation Canadian of German/British decent (wasp). 13 years ago I was lucky enough to marry one of Russia's beautiful women, we are still married, and we have a Condo in Treghorka on the outskirts of Moscow, where I hope to retire to and reside permanently in the spring. I still work in Canada, so I have been "commuting" to Moscow every year for the past 10 years or so, staying the maximum of 3 months allowed most times. I feel as safe in Moscow as Toronto, and Moscow looks and feels the same as any large western capitalist city in the world, in fact in many respects I prefer Moscow. It is a modern, vibrant, beautiful city with a fantastic history. Out in the country, many smaller towns are still poor and lagging behind, but I feel it is due to this insanely stupid attitude towards Russia from the west and NATO of "Us against Them" a leftover from the cold war, in which nato and the west continue to to put up barriers against Russia, both economically, strategically, and politically. It is about time the world woke up and realized with the "internet" age, the world has become much smaller and we should be seeing each other as friends and neighbours, as it would be in everyone's interest. I hope one day to see all the same investment, and growth in Russia as anywhere else and the level of trust build to the point that Russians and westerners alike can visit each other without the need for visas, just by carrying a passport.

This guy is very badly informed! Russia owes its current position in the world- as a permanent member of the UNSC- to the victory of WWII by the Soviet Union. Furthermore the rest of the world does not share a single ideology. So, it is not clear what this man means by “the rest of the world”? Does he mean that the rest of the world shares the religion of consumerism -- Also does he mean that the new Russia shares the U.S project of enduring wars of imperialism? Why not state what the Post-Soviet Russia stands for rather than disavowing the deeds- both the good and ugly- of the Soviet Union! How sad and shallow. One thing is clear that the new Russia elite has a new God- and it is God of money….. The new Russian elite seems to be driven by money and narrow sense of personal power—not by sense of history or moral vision. Thus, why bother with all these fake references for the need of creating a new multi polar world order if there are “no differences between Russia, EU. NATO and the U.S”!

Now, if NATO has "no aggressive intentions toward Russia" as President Medvedev is about to proclaim, then make it much easier for Russia and NATO. In that case, Russia should give up its nuclear weapons and join NATO under the rule of the NATO's Master- the U.S. Once this happens, the U/S and NATO can focus on containing China! http://en.rian.ru/world/20101020/161030180.html

Brian i don't know how long you have been reading the comments on RT but it isn't just the west who thinks it is us vs them, most of the people here still think that and blames the US and CIA for everything. Hopefully Russia and the West can work together against the new threat, China.
