The “spill” over Iran allegedly building the trigger for a nuclear bomb is just another US ploy to make its allies sanction the country, said Seyyed Mohammad Marandi from the University of Tehran.
”Right now the Americans again are trying to impose sanctions on Iran, they are trying to force other countries to turn against Iran, therefore they are planting this sort of information in newspapers,” he said.
Seyyed Mohammad Marandi added that the country is ready to cooperate with the Western powers based only upon the condition of respect.
“As long as the Americans continue to try to intimidate the country and speak about carrots and sticks, they are not going to get a positive response,” he said.
The Times has recently reported that Iran is building the trigger for a potential nuclear bomb. Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad dismissed the allegations, saying the report was fabricated by the American government.

The Iranians claims about the peaceful nature of their nuclear programs would be more credible if they hadn't hidden at least two nuclear processing facilities from the UN - in one case, an enormous facility buried deep underground. If their nuclear program was all about energy, there would be no problem allowing the UN's International Atomic Energy Agency to freely inspect all their nuclear facilities (in accordance with the UN treaty they signed up to). The silly thing is: Israel is NOT subject to these inspections because they never signed the nuclear non-proliferation treaty. If Iran had not signed the NPT, their nuclear program could be conducted in total secrecy without the threat of sanctions.

The Iranians have not hidden anything and all the sites were declared within the framework of international law. IAEA experts regularly inspect the sites.
