“It’ll be harder for Georgia to repair its soldiers’ spirit”

Georgians will have to rebuild their military after its August defeat, and if there is enough financing, it would be easy, said Ruslan Pukhov, Director of the Centre for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies.
All in all, no one not even Saakashvili wanted an armed conflict with Russia. The war was a chain of miscalculations on the part of Georgia. Over the years Georgia had provoked Russia,as an example repeatedly arresting the peacekeepers and Russia did nothing. Its not as much as them banking on the help of the US as even they would know and probably were told that NATO can not be pulled into conflict with Russia for obvious reason. The Georgian government were simply gambling that again Russia will not react. They played the card now they are paying for it. If Saakashvili was not such a good dictation, he would had long been gone by now.
I dont know what did Georgians try to achive at first place, they know very well that US, EU or anyone else will not help them, because no one wants to get in conflict with Russia. If i was them, I will look forward to make good relations with Russia, so they can be protected by them, and not expect help from someone who is on the other side of the world, safe and isolated from others wich is only reason why US is what it is.

I don't believe that all the Georgian military forces wanted to go to war with Russia, only the gullible followers of president Saakishvili. Ofcourse, such a defeat would be demoralising to the soldiers and citizens. Last, a badly divided and demoralised Georgia is a threat to regional stability.
