The star of the new spy thriller “Salt,” Angelina Jolie, is looking to meet the red-haired Russian star of the recent spy scandal, Anna Chapman, at the premiere of her new action adventure in Moscow.

She’s reportedly asked the Russian organizers of the upcoming event to invite “Agent 90-60-90” to the highly-anticipated film screening next week.

Following the arrest of the alleged Russian spy in the US last June, there’s been a heated discussion on the similarities between the plot of the film and Anna Chapman’s life, full of sexy, cinematic adventure.

One of those in charge of the “Salt” promotion campaign in Moscow, Igor Dubinin, told LifeNews online, he doesn’t have a clue on where to find Chapman who recently returned to Russia following the spy swap between Russia and America.

The 28-year-old was one of 10 suspects arrested in New York on June 27, believed to be a member of an alleged spy ring of “trained Russian intelligence operatives.”

“Salt” from “Patriot Games” director Philip Noyce revolves around a CIA officer, Evelyn Salt, accused of being a Russian sleeper spy.

Apparently, the daredevil agent will have to go extremes to retrieve her character and restore loyal reputation.

Played by Jolie, the coveted title role was initially conceived for Tom Cruise but in the long run things played out differently.

The 35-year-old actress who had to pick up some Russian for the role, earlier told the British tabloid The Sun she found it interesting to see how “seductive that language could become.”

Should her command of Russian prove adequate enough, Angelina and Anna could share their experiences on what it takes to be a spy in the original.

Check out the review on "Salt" in RT’s blogs.

It is hard to resist the view that the timing of the exposure of the Russian sleeper cells in the US and the exposure of the public to the Hollywood representation of the very same theme are part of the same media event, which frames the public imagination and perception of the world. The movie is effectively reviving the Cold War and its psychosis. It says explicitly that the "Russian" plan is to "destroy America." If, during the "spy scandal," the sleepers were presented as more or less useless agents, the movie paints such sleepers as planted super-killers and fanatical mind-robots who threaten the lives of the president and pose a threat to the very heart of the US national security. Thus, through this movie, Hollywood once again controls "the message," and the media event becomes the frame of reference. There is nothing benign or glamorous about this. I wonder how the same plot and idea would have been received if the movie was made in Russia with Americans being cast as those subversive super-killers and implants who are bent on the destruction of their host country and if, in the US, such a movie received such a similar enthusiastic reception. Hollywood is a master in rewriting history and the past, but, now, it might become perhaps even more ambitious--trying to write the future too by turning the whole countries (i.e., Russia) into part of its cast. Many viewers will form their view of Russia based on a movie like this. And what view is that? A damn bad one--the charms of Angelina Jolie notwithstanding. She is just the Hollywood/American answer/anti-dote to the would-be seductiveness of the Russian woman so that anxiety and paranoia can live again: if you want to change the world, make a movie. Bur the end of the movie makes it clear that a sequel is coming. So stay tuned.

All ten deportees had to sign an agreement with the US that they would not profit from this affair - but as they have been deported, how can the US enforce such an agreement abroad? It is quite funny that Anna Chapman is being courted for publicity for a major Hollywood film so soon. Good luck to her.
