Muslims in India were angered by the questioning of Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan by US customs officials. Sanjay Puri, of the US India Political Action Committee, reflects on how US security policies may be outdated.
i wonder how the US , that boasts of such 'great' intelligence [agency and manpower both]fails to indicate in front of 'names' on their data base -any significant 'status' of the person..rather i wonder is it difficult?with the resources US has it could do well to see that when a person by name 'shahrukh khan' is checked on a computer- the output shows that well, he could be an artist from india .. its not a big iss ue i suppose. secondly its not that only 'muslims' were offended by the mis-treatment of the star as the website tells, WE as indians were insulted.

Kahn probably was treated in the same manner that any other traveler or an American citizen would have been treated. Famous or wealthy people should not be given preferential treatment. Americans have to abide by foreign customs policies and procedures when in a foreign country which can sometimes be very stringent. To complain would be useless. Foreigners should not be surprised by a little inconvenience when visiting America. Custom officials have a very difficult job to do. It is best to try to make their job easier by working with them in a positive way.
