Yushchenko brings Stalin to court over genocide

Kiev’s Court of Appeals has found Josef Stalin and other Bolshevik leaders guilty of genocide against the Ukrainians during the famine, or “Holodomor” as it is called in Ukraine, of 1932-33.

It’s estimated, during World War I up to 1.5 million Armenians were killed; two thirds of the Armenian population (1,75 millions) were deported to Syria and Palestine; 600 000 were either killed or died of starvation during the journey.

I don't understand the law very well, well let's put it this way: I am not an expert. I was under the impression that during the time of Mr. Peltier's trial and sentencing, his sentence would've been considered extreme and prejudicial. I hope there is an expert out there that would be willing to help me understand the severity of his sentence.
