Lincoln and Alexander II – the two liberators

On Thursday, the U.S. celebrates its 200th birthday of President Abraham Lincoln, known for abolishing slavery in the country. Halfway across the globe Russian Tsar Alexander II also dreamt of freedom for the serfs.










No good deed goes unpunished. but i lift a glass a vodka to Alexander's memory and a glass of bourbon whiskey to Lincoln as well. by the way the Gettysburg address is one of the worlds great pieces of literature. More is said in fewer words than any other document I know of. Google it and read it! it will take less than five minutes to read and give you thoughts for a life time even if you are not American. by the way a score is twenty years just to make the translation easiler.
