According to the latest news, the identity of the bomber has been confirmed. He is a Jordanian, formerly doctor. He was arrested by the Jordanian authorities for being Al-Qaeda sympathizer. Somehow, then he was recruited to become a double agent. He was sent to Afghan-Pakistani border to get involved with the locals and learn of the location of top Al-Qaeda commanders. The officer, who may have been his handler, is indeed a cousin of the King of Jordan. This officer was among CIA killed by this double agent.
