By now I think everyone who does not have their head in the sand realizes that talking won't resolve the situation. Iran will continue to say one thing, and do another. It will continue to use threats and provocation as part of its 'negotiating' tactics. Talking gets you nowhere when dealing with this type of mentality. Unfortunately, the option of military intervention is starting to look more and more like the only remaining way of dealing with Iran. When this happens, I'd recommend the same treatment be given Iran as was given Germany: complete defeat of it militarily followed by the division of the country and a forced 'de-Islamization' (in place of de-nazification) process. Hopefully that will be sufficient to turn it into a responsible member of the international community. It did for Germany.

A question Russia has to answer. Which law has authority, Constitutional Russian law or international treaties? I am concerned that Medvedev is possibly being sucked into Obama's agenda. His comments about Iran are furthering the war option for America. He's with international Cobra's and might bend on very important points. Their "dainties" have got to be hard to resist. I see China softening to America's quest to Empire as well. Both these countries have garnered new wealth and that can be dangerous. "To whom much is given much is required". NOTHING has been shown to me that proves Iran nuclear quest are anythng but commercial. Even the American spy agencies gave Iran a clean bill of health. El Baradei, the last head of the IAEA could find nothing wrong with Iran. Israel? Now that's another story.

Russia should take the lead in any negotiations with it's neighbor and friend Iran. God forbid the Israeli/Rottenchild controlled US/UK have their bankster/criminal enterprise at the helm on this one. Is the BP spill still fresh in your mind, now magnify this 1 million times.

Israeli/Rothschilds US/UK are not immortal. They bleed too and with the Global financial centre of power shifting from West/Rothschilds—to East/China-Russia, the rules of the game have changed considerably.

I hope this judgment is not based on information supplied by the USA. The Iranian scientist that American intelligence kidnapped has escaped. He says he told the American security services nothing. So that file the government of the USA has been showing to Western leaders claiming to be based on information supplied by an Iranian nuclear scientist is a fabrication. There is no truth to any of the claims they have been making. And now they have been caught out in a lie. So its just as well that their security services discovered(invented) all those Russian spies. Otherwise this would look like the biggest failure by the American security services since the Bay of Pigs. Under Bush they tortured people. Under Obama they kidnap people. Under both the decay of American state power continues apace.

The shift of Global financial centre of power was inevitable. The Rothschilds and their cronies are just a bunch of very mean families conspiring against the whole World, but even thought they had most of the Global financial power in the past century or so, their problem is that they are just few families. How is it possible for a few families to sustain their wealth and influence in the World for a long term? It is impossible. As they are releasing their last breath of life from their souls, they are doing as much damage as possible to this Planet but they will be held responsible and pay for it dearly.

The more i listen to Medveded and Surkov the more they sound like Gorbachov and Yeltsin. To Gorbachov's Perestroika they talk about Modernization. If you listen closely this is simply sloganeering. I do not see any plans regarding ugrading the indusrial stock of Russia. Instead they think they can fix things by building Skolkovo. This is simply PR. No attempt is made to involve the institutes or the Academy. How do you modernize russian aviation if Aeroflot does not buy the Sukhois 100. This is a farce Truly modernizing the industry, encouraging innovation, modernizing the state mechanism etc will take years. Of course an open mind is required. of course foreign specialsits, JVs etc will be required. Xenophobic attitudes are out of the question. This does not mean sunscribing to the foeign policy agendas of western powers in the ME and Asia. They are leading nowhere and would bankrupt Russia as well.

O my goodness... mbach, I think your country, wherever it is, should be invaded, your people killed and your land divided. Anyone who thinks war is a good thing must experience it first hand then they can come and write such horrid things on the internet. Medvedev has not said anything about Israel's nuclear weapons, why not? Especially since Iran has no nuclear weapons.

Vladimir July 15, 2010, 02:44 quote

mbach: There is a substantial difference between Nacy Germany of 40's and the todays Iran. Iran has attacked no any state, no any nation, and Iran has not declared any intention to do so thus far. Nacy Germany however attacked virtually all nations that were within its reach. Therefore, the same medicine that worked for Nacy Germany would not work for Iran, as these two cases are substantially different. The problem of Iranian nukes will not be resolved unless the problem of Israel nuclear arsenal is addressed in a proper way. The stable solution would be a nuclear free Middle East (including Israel de-nuclearized).

1) Russia and China simply don’t care about others and they have said so openly and tacitly (so don’t bank on them as we don’t!). They can see the Yanks and other imperialist nations trying to “pull an Iraq” again (they aren’t fools) but they may have received assurances otherwise; in fact we consider Russia as one of the colonial wolves given our history (the Caucuses and Central Asia, etc.). None of that is forgotten and none of “this” is a shock. They (the G8), sadly for them, have no military or even political/economic solutions regarding Iran. 2) The supremacist nations of the North have always preyed on weak countries that can’t defend themselves. Even after 50 years! of sanctions, we’d still not be remotely as useless or weak as Panama, Grenada, Afghanistan or Iraq. The materialist mind may doubt but we, foremost, believe in tit-for-tat (or response in kind if you will). So reactors for reactors, dams for dams, etc. if you get my drift. Combined w/ Iran’s military/intelligence capabilities (we can be emphatically as ruthless), that should bring some cold sweat to many a forehead.

3) Furthermore, almost the entire (close to 95%) Iran’s defence technology and weapons are domestic (we’re exporters in many classes) so we are a far cry from Iraq, or inept Syria (sitting like a duck getting bombed!). Thus, “sanctions” in whatever form, Yankee Congress or the colonial tool UN, cannot achieve much (even though IT IS their objective). They also need the flow of oil and gas from Hormuz (which will be instantly shut) and as our missiles have now matured, the Red Sea, the Med. and the Indian Ocean would follow suit. So, they know and we know, we’re no dope or a collapsing Arab tyranny or a tiny banana republic. 4) Next, the already implosive economic imbalance and -what I deem- the end of global capitalism plus the natural quagmires facing the N. Americans, Russia and EU, haven’t left them any mood for a hemispheric or world war. 5) Having said all that, they will continue w/ disinformation, lies, news creation instead of reporting facts by the corporate global media, and mass terror and sabotage as they have since last June especially. The “war” in this case will be more tacit, secret, cunning, and deceptive but the outcome is still the imperialist defeat. Who knows but I have a strong hunch in a decade there WON’T be a US or even a UN to worry about. This decade will prove more drastic than most want to admit.

There is only a limited list of the so-called "blocked" materials and even fascist North (including the Russian mafiacracy headed by Medvedev and Putin) can't go beyond that. Not that their already agreed upon final goal isn't to dismantle the revolution and the Islamic Republic because of its anti-colonial message of independence and resistance. These sanctions, for now, are mainly voluntary and based on the given country's sovereignty or enslavement vis a vis the evil US empire. Russia has decisively joined the second camp. Not many non-white/Christians will follow suit. It only strengthens my view of the soon-coming hemispheric battle on this planet (if the capitalist economies haven't collapsed prior to that!)

Talking to whom??... The U.S.led by the Israelis (HELLO) aren't listening and after a couple of delegations from the previously mentioned, the Russians have decided to 'toe the line' but, whose line??..Why the rush to action?...shouldn't the Iranians be allowed (through 'indirect talk's,of course) to engage in'meaningful' talks for four or five decades, or so, ??. . The Russian Foreign Minister has a good deal of authority and is well respected,worldwide...it's within Russia's power to intercede and put a stop to another 'Fiasco'. Simply by creating the means for Iran to save face and come to the table with the necessary dignity and most importantly, with a trustworthy partner ...delivering and manning the "upgraded' missile defence system would also ensure the required 'breathing space'.
