While a “Russian support column” for NATO would be useful, the absence of Russian attempted undermining and white-anting of NATO would be even more useful.Such efforts will not achieve Moscow's aim of weakening NATO, but they do contribute towards achieving the very opposite, namely, increasing NATO's distrust of Russia.
