Russia and the US are negotiating a new nuke reduction treaty. But it’s necessary that other nuclear states get involved in such talks, the Director of the Nuclear Information Project, Hans Kristensen, told RT.
The comment was a dedication to Jean Paul Sartre.
Let us repeat once more the evidence. Since 1945, mankind has been living in a fear and insecurity climat sciemment concived by lies, provocations and one country's arts to steer trubles on the whole planet. That same country has been and still is the initiator of all weapons of mass destruction which humanity possess actually. She is also te one who has set nearly one thousand military and spying bases everywhere on the five continents, but primarely around one nation. The decisions' makers of that hegemonical country are not concerned about the well-being of russians, europeans or even" average" americans. All they care about is their Wall-Street's masters and oligarks feelings and banks'accounts. Around 60 trillions $ have been wasted since 1949. Why should such a warranty of easer made fortunes stop, since practically nobody knows of it, or is concerned about it: Remember what Julius Cesar said: Governing idiots is a lot easier than leading well educated citizen. We need to have someone explaining those facts at the ONU; then have that institution removed from Nw-York, then, taking over and destroying all those weapons. Naturally, what I write is my own wishfull thinking, but after all, everybody has the right to dream.. Sorry Futur Generations...Best Regards. Jean-Claude Meslin
Pakistan and India will never give up any of their nuclear weapons. And of course Israel will continue, with US connivance to refuse to disclose what uclear weapons it has
Nuclear weapons serve only as a deterrence capability and if used they will inflict total annihilation. So far this Planet has managed to avoid nuclear war against antagonists with equal capability, even though coming very close in the Cuban crises, thank to God it was averted, but there are no guarantees some times in the future nuclear capable state will not use them, putting in danger the whole of humanity. States with parity nuclear potentials are very unlikely to use it because of fear of destructing each other: Russia-USA, India-Pakistan, France-England, China-USA, Russia-China, but when it comes to a conflict between nuclear capable state and non-nuclear one the temptation is high. It is an open secret that Israel has about 300 nuclear warheads and if a terrorist attack occurs on Israeli soil with 9/11 magnitude blamed on Iran-the potential is very high that Israel will use nuclear weapons against Iran. With the flare lit and Global geopolitical shift up for grabs by force, will the losing side refrain from retaliating? I don’t think so. That’s why nuclear weapons must be disposed of and strong guarantees for protection given to states which fear their existence from neighborhood, such as Israeli.
Rikard Baric, I had to read your comment twice before deciding to comment on your dedication to Jean Paul Sartre. First, your reference Medvedev/Putin and Obama as the children of WWII- and the inheritors of the power of death and life[nuclear weapons] is interesting. However, it is pertinent to state that Jean Paul Sartre would not have accepted the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to a President who has done so little in the cause of peace and who is now presiding over two illegal wars: In Iraq and Afghanistan. I urge you to read Satre’s moving introduction to Fanon’s Wretched of the Earth. Europe has failed to reject the United States wars of aggression against Iraq and Afghanistan. Instead of demanding an end to U.S illegal wars of aggression, Europe has decided to award the Nobel Peace Prize to the United States war President! As for Russia's leaders, they have different historical relationship to WWII. Obama cannot point anything approaching the the destruction of Leningrad, Stalingrad and close to 30m dead Soviet people. Thus, unlike the United States, Russia has historical reason to be highly concerned with its security.
Hi Sarah, Thanks for your innocence. Irony hurts it. I read J.P. Sartre last in high school as “must read” program. However his political implications were absolutely unique among intellectuals and I remembered him as such.
Rikard Baric, what is innocent about my comment? Perhaps, my comment hurts not because of its naive ironic implications but because Fanon and Sartre have agreed on the political economy of violence -which is used first by the colonizing forces and then by the colonized? Is this not why Iran bent to get its own nukes? And is it not the case the only reason the United States discussing with Russia on nuke reduction is because Russia is not Iraq, that Russia is a powerful nation? Is power the only the language the U.S respects? As for Sarte, he would have understood the utter cynicism in awarding Nobel Prize for Peace to President Obama. The real lesson of U.S actions in the world stage since WW, must tell Russia to stand firm for it stands between a complete domination of the world and a potential chance for new global security architecture based on real peace and security for all. Obama has no such an agenda. As for Europe's decision to give the Nobel Prize to Obama, why not give the prize to Condoliza Rice as well! After this, what is real value of the European Nobel Peace Prize?
Hi Sarah again, My irony hurt, not yours. I repeat - you are innocent. Read third time. Rgds Richard and keep well.
Rikard Baric Facts can cause moral hurt to those who do wish to erasure inconvenient facts . One of the facts that hurt is that Russia has never used nuclear weapons even though it’s the nation most devastated in WWII whereas the United States used nuclear weapons against civilian population and it is now hell bent to weaponising and dominate space! Obama is the pretty face of an empire driven by militarism and the impulse to dominate and control the world. Well, Obama latest poll numbers suggests that American people do not share your utopia vision. for the last time, I am neither naïve nor innocent. on the contrary, you have failed to provide credible evidence to back up your first post that you thought of so highly that you have decided to post it as a poetic homage to Sartre!
OK Sarah, I am naive and innocent.

Let us make this issue a clear subject: Medvedev and Obama were kids when the military culture was declared over Hiroshima. Today the world is harboring the attitude of the same culture charging Obama and Medvedev of sharing the one inseparable nuclear responsibility. Medvedev is still playing with Putin who is telling him: “Look I also was a kid at that time…” But the good news is that the world is finally getting the new hope from the kid Obama. Visiting recently Hiroshima this kid made implicit statement: “Look Japs, as a matter of fact, we expect Russia to make the excuse to you for Hiroshima and besides – they also posses too much of yours islands over there…” This is the hope coming from the Nobel intellectual womb. Should the winners make some excuse for sake of kids or just simply on behalf of themselves? Because intellectual service of this poor world failed by winning all – and the peoples are not ready to share anymore. Eat your victory at Nobel dinner table. We’ll only remember you all…
