One gotta see what Obama tries to achieve, not just what he have achieved. The changes he tries to make have to pass trough the senate, and as most people reading RT would be wise enough to know, the US senate is full of conservative idiots and religious fanatics. I ususally dont like the decisions made by the peace prize comitee, but this year I think they have made a wise choice.

Obama is YET another mouthpiece for RUSSIA HATERS like Soros and others!! The US Senate is NOT full of "conservative idiots and religious fanatics" as the poster epsilson believes.... UNLESS the Democratic party WHICH CONTROLS NOT JUST THE SENATE BUT THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTIVES, has changed from BEING the UBER-LIBERAL gay loving and haters of ANYTHING good and decent party!!! Speaking as an INDEPENDENT, I think Obama is full of hot air and has not done one thing to create jobs in the USA and he has hurt this economy so bad with the so-called "bail-out" programs that it may never recover!! And one more thing, he will NEVER tell the truth to the Russians about arms control and HE WILL TRY TO PLACE US MISSLES IN UKRAINE AND GEORGIA. RUSSIA BEWARE OF OBAMA. I sure am!! OBAMA IS NOT ABOUT PEACE HE IS ABOUT MAKING HIMSELF KING OF THE USA AND THE WORLD!!

This is a sick joke! Obama is a warmonger. Recent headlines say it all: Global Dominance Expanding Under Obama Vowing to Maintain “the strongest military on the planet” - Obama Pleads for $100 Billion Loan to IMF to Fund Wars - Obama Has Fully Embraced Bush Administration Torture - Obama to Protect Torture - Obama Pumping Billions of Dollars into ‘War on Islam’. Epsilon (above) needs to grow a brain..

Sorry Epsilon, but I have to disagree with you. (Nobel) prizes should be awarded for achievements, not for intentions. As encouragement, a sticker or a cookie would have been a more appropriate prize for Mr. Obama.

The only way Obama deserves this is if he has actually done something. Which he hasn't. I would be fine with this if he actually withdrew from the middle east, but no, he has to lie and not keep his promise. It's no wonder a bunch of Norwegians chose the winner. WHAT HAS HE ACTUALLY DONE FOR ANYONE!? Oh wait, he has done a ton for all of the banks and lets not forget, the American Government's size.

To our President Obama, all true Americans are proud of any American winning the Nobel Peace Prize and to answer Nathan, "what have YOU done?" Our President and his staff work hard to make life in American better in their short time in office - tell me what the last eight years have brought you with the last administration? No jobs, homes forclosure, No health care due to no jobs, higher prices on EVERYTHING and Nathan, your comment on October 9, 2009, lets all know that there are people like you that simply cannot see the truth. Uphold your President and encourage him to push on as he still tries to bring America back around where people can have food, water and shelter not simple words as you offer. By-the-way, our President gave women equal pay, he's trying to see that all Americans have adequate health care just to let you know a couple of things the President is doing in, oh yea, just eight months or so. So Nathan, what have you done besides hot air and your attempt to put down the President of your own country or maybe you are not a true American and can only put down instead of uphold our leader, and what has he done, lets see-it seems that the world believes he has contribute something which you have not as you see YOU are not receiving the prize. I'll pray for you.

What did he do? Why is the world keeping his accomplishments so secret. Why doesn't someone let the American people know the secret. All we know is that he talks a lot and does nothing.

Sam October 12, 2009, 07:07 quote

I agree with everyone except Epsilon and Rasheeda. Obama does NOT in ANY WAY deserve this. Once upon a time, this was a prestigious award, given for accomplishments, not intentions. (We could even debate what Obama's intentions are- personally I think he's just a bunch of talk, and doesn't intend to keep any of his promises) I didn't vote for McCain, but I SURE didn't vote for Obama either! And Rasheeda, it is NOT the governments job to hold everyone's hand all through life.
