The Nobel Peace Prize is not a prize for achievement – it’s a prize for intention, for good will, political analyst Aleksandr Fomenko told RT, commenting on Barack Obama getting the prize.

Barack Obama wins Nobel Peace PrizeUS President Barack Obama has won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize. The Nobel Committee says Obama won for “his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.'' |
Of course this award was disgusting, but it does serve a purpose. It shows once again that western institutions are just a web of political deceit and mere tools of a western ideological control, directed by the finacial few who seek control of all the world peoples. The award was just a political direction, just that. To award it to a man in charge of the daily death delivered to civilians as part of a colonial opium and oil quest, utilising torture and rape is truly bizzare. But that was the whole point, westerners are known by their fine words and evil deeds. The Nobel committe was just following this to the last letter. So really this was just in line with the western ideals of our people are valuable but yours are not. After all this has been the European colonial mentality for hundreds of years. Would you expect a western institution to have any different values. So well done to the Nobel committe, you truly represented the western lies and hypocracy, you captured it in asingle award. You truly showed how truly worthless and contrived western statements are on peace and human rights. You truly took the 'peace' out of everyone with this award.
Well, as much as I respect President Obama (I voted for him), the Nobel Committee's decision to award him the peace prize exposes the annual prize-giving for what it is: a farcical exercise. If prizes were to be given for intentions and not for achievements, as Mr. Fomenko claims, then again, Obama would have to wait a long time before deserving a peace prize. He hasn't achieved a single peaceful transaction yet. Not only that. He is involved in two wars and might even start a third one if some of his warmonger advisors get their way. Mr. Obama is leading sanctions against Iran. Can he tell the world for what reason? Is this an act of peace or a threat of non-peaceful intentions? Has he produced any evidence that Iran is preparing to manufacture nuclear weapons? Yet he appears to be following the footsteps of President Bush in the lead-up to the Iraq war. Sanctions are acts of war, not acts of peace. Iran has not, and is not, threatening any country, notwithstanding the refrains of certain sectors in the United States. Why would't the Nobel Peace Committee consider such names as Medvedev, Putin, Ju Hintao? Or, for that matter, Chavez, Gaddafy, Ahmadinedjad. All these leaders have not only expressed peaceful intentions, but have tangibly worked to bring their intentions into fruition. And, unlike the United States, they are threatening no other country. Then again, when I think of people like Begin, Perez, Kissinger who have also received the same prize in the past, I feel nothing but contempt for this vacuous annual festival.

The nobel peace prize has become just another farce and a tool for those who award it. What are their true motives? Is there a hidden agenda? Why pick someone who everyone knows does not deserve it. This world is in a mess.
