President Obama has categorically opposed the legalization of marijuana in the U.S. Nevertheless, some experts disagree with this decision.
I agree. It's time to stop punishing people for indulging in a mild euphoriant such as pot when they can legally purchase alcohol, a substance shown to cause aggressive behavior, which pot has never been shown to do. It would eliminate the drug cartels' profit motive, boost the American economy, and eliminate the enormous waste of taxes on prosecution and imprisonment of non-aggressive consumers. It has never made sense and the longer the so-called "War on Drugs" (which is really a war on basically defenseless people) continues, the more harm is done. It's way past time, America! Let's do something that makes sense for a change. Legalize it!!
The Presidents right. The economy isn't going to get better if there isn't any good values.I know that the alot of people in the U.S. smoke weed,Iwas one of them.If you think weed will make a difference, ask yourself why you seperate your self from what it is you need to do in life. And if you think that is stuipid, think about what you are always around.Reality,is keeping a job, sournding yourself around people that are living reality, and not getting hooked on other drugs.I use to love smoking weed, but I eventaully got paranoid.Anyway if that is all you think about then you don't care about other things that you need to really care about about yourself and others.
I really dont care what the president does about it!!! I hope he decides to legalize it,tax it, regulate it,but if he doesnt then in 2012 i will be voting for somebody who will legalize it!!! we voted him in and we will vote his replacement in also.If i dont feel hes going in the right direction for me or for the usa then we/i wont vote for him in the next election. god made weed, people make cigs and liquor, who do you trust!!!!
Prisoners being held for the peaceful, non-violent possession, sale, transport or cultivation of cannabis hemp must be released immediately. Money and property seized must be returned. Criminal records must be wiped clean, amnesty granted and some sort of reparations paid for time served. These cannabis prisoners are the real victims of this monstrous crime against humanity called the “War on Drugs.” The United States is supposed to be a free country, yet those who choose to smoke this mostly harmless drug are penalized. An American can go out and drink themself to death, but they cannot freely use a drug which is less toxic and less prone to making one out of control than alcohol. I say this is not only unfair, but also un-American! The police, prosecutors and prison guards should not be in charge of which herbal therapies people may use to treat their personal health problems. Federal Judge Francis Young in 1988 called “one of the safest therapeutically active substances known to man.”

America's first attempt at prohibition gave birth to the mafia, those who do not learn from their history are doomed to repete it. Most smokers are not drugies and are offended to be lumped in that cataqgory. Yet, current laws of testing and punishment (loss of jobs and freedom) are creating a larger drug problem; many will do hard drugs rather than smoke because pot stays in your system 30 days and drugs only 36 hours. Most drugies don't smoke, it brings them down from their "high". Weed is less harmful and less adictive than tobacco and alcahol, legalize it, tax it, control it and take it out of criminals hands. Educate and let us enjoy the "freedom" to decide for ourselves.
