Taking of looks is James Joyner a relative of All Bundy? Seriously any monkey commander in speach is going to have the same policy. The US is not one man, or one administartion, it is a whole institution. people are naive to think all things can change easily. The institution has a whole inertia of its own. To change it requires immense energy. So presidents and administrations need to decide what they will spend their effort on changing. They tend to think of re-election as their main goal. So don't expect them to put significant effort into anything that doesn't align with that. Read that as put effort into vote winning things, all the rest do a smoke and mirrors nice PR performance worthy of any Hollywood trailer. So don't be surprised that after Obama's international PR roadshow, he now settles into to the real grind of trying to deliver on things for the American people. To be honest the US is not so important for us, and neither us for them, other than to make sure we don't do anything that is catastrophic for both of us. That is the bottom line here! we thought thinks could be different, because a US Russia partnership looked mouthwatering, but they are not, the game is the same, so what, life goes on! we know what needs to be done, so no sleep will be lost over it.
