The US senate has passed an economic recovery plan proposed by President Obama. Diana Furchtgott-Roth of the Hudson Institute thinks some points in the plan will lead to excessive state interference in private business.

Over eight hundred billion dollars have been earmarked to help America's ailing economy. But many Republicans remain opposed to the plan, saying the spending will not be properly controlled and will lead to greater debt in the future.
