US President Barack Obama will address the public tonight from the White House on the topic of the BP oil spill. This will be his first major comment on the matter. It has been about two months since spill occurred.
It is strange that 3 days after Hurricane Katrina , George W Bush was made out to be the worst possible person, yet 58 days after the oil spill Obama has still done nothing and still blames Bush for most things.? It is the policies of the " Democrats" in opposing oil drilling that has made deep water drilling necessary.
The American media is already calling Obama's speech worthless. But, give Obama credit for deceiving Russia into supporting sanctions against Iran and canceling the S-300 contract.

I had heard on the radio that the USSR resorted to a nuclear bomb to stop an oil spill. It needed to move the earth to plug an oil well. I don't recall if it was an underwater well or aboveground. I think the US government working with BP should drill near the leaking Gulf oil well and bury it with massive tons of earth moved by a nucelar blast. Hopefully the detonation can be contained to under the seabed. Has anyone else heard about the use of nuclear bombs to move massive amounts of earth? I don't know if the US Navy has considered even high explosives to plug the underwater oil spill.
