Obama’s birthplace mystery raises doubts

Young Barack Obama is seen swinging a baseball bat as a child in an undated family snapshot released by his presidential campaign in 2008.

The U.S. state of Hawaii has once again checked and confirmed that President Barack Obama was really born in that state and, so, is a natural-born American citizen.

I was born in PA at home and my birth certificate does not have the Dr. name or even my parents name on it. Now my certification of birth which is what PA issued till some time in the late 50 has my parents full names on it but still no other information except that I was born in Rose Twp. Jefferson County PA both have the seal of PA on it. Also if you have one US citzen parent and born even in another country you are a citzen of the USA. So what is the big deal he is a US Citzen!!!!!!!

I just pulled out my own birth certificate and saw neither the name of the doctor, nor the hospital. It could be because this is a duplicate -- I lost the original years ago. I was born in the state of Pennsylvania (unless my parents have been being dishonest to me all these years and I really am not an American citizen). I think this whole issue is a conspiracy theory.

who cares where our president was born? makebe he was born @ the same liquor store that george bush jr purchased his liquor to support his addiction. the problem you birth certificate hunter with our president is he is black.and smart.if you are not happy with the voter's choice maybe you should consider moving to another country while president obama is serving this country as COMMANDER AND CHIEF. take them out of the cotton fields what they do? start servicing our daughters and running the country.

The hospital checked, checked what exactly? Why doesn't camp Obama release the full original birth certificate? Because they like this, it makes what is left of the Republicans looks silly, it provides more bread and circuses for the clowns on both sides. Besides, if it would make a difference they would just pass a law that would make it OK. Then we could look forward to the Shwarrtzenegger administration.

I thought there was a legal requirement that a US president was born physically within the US i.e. claiming citizenship by decent from a parent was not enough. I thought that was the legal issue.

If they want Obama's birth certificate with doctor's name and hospital details so badly, they should then pull out EVERY PRIOR PRESIDENT'S on-record birth certificate to see if said detail is listed on theirs as well....

There is a lot more to it. Obama's certificate number is out of sequence to those of twins born AFTER him, plus, several family members said he was born in Kenya. Kenya bragged about it in their papers until that was scrubbed off the Internet. The point is that Obama is resisting this because he doesn't believe in the US Constitution. He got away with being unqualified for the office and has done things he has no legal power to do, but his lackeys in Congress and a fawning media are protecting him. 47% of American/s don't even KNOW abut the controversy. We have an ignorant electorate over here that is more interested in AMERICA'S TOP MODEL than whether their country is being taken over by another Hugo Chavez. He is appointing Czars as a shadow government, but I think he may have overplayed his hand. Hi health care initiative has been a boondoggle.

"who cares where our president was born?" - glenda carter - The constitution of the United States does!!! As for the "short form" Birth certificate (this is what Obama camp is showing) it isn't even good enough for the average citizen in some area's to get a drivers license. It's the "long form" BC that lists all the details that is required. My Russian born daughter was given a similar birth certificate from the US consulate proving her US citizenship - it doesn't prove she was US born - which she wasn't. The constitution requires that a president be US born and not just a citizen. One may hold any other office in US government without this stipulation but cannot be the president.

The American constitution must be complied with to the letter. Otherwise, the presidency is unconstitutional and all actions taken illegal. This mess needs to be sorted out so there is no cloud hanging over the American presidency.

It is not that people do not think he is a citizen. It is that people do not think he is a natural born citizen. There is a very large difference. The idea was to keep the president from having foreign allegiances.

For some people there will never be enough proof that Obama was born in this country. But lets consider. This country has 3 major law enforcement/intelligence agencies, the FBI, CIA and NSA. Their combined budget is about 100 billion a year. I have to assume they verify the birthplace as well as examine the entire history of ANYONE running for president. But you have people who would choose to believe a rumor that started with the McCain campaign over the word of state of Hawaii officials and the entire intelligence establishment of the United States. Stupid runs very, very, deep in some people.

Son of Liberty September 06, 2010, 07:22 quote

The short answer is this: He's not eligible. The long answer is this: He is not eligible because of his father's citizenship, which causes Barack to be governed by the British Nationality Act of 1952, making him a dual-citizen of England and America (if not entirely British, should his mother not be old enough under the laws in 1961 to convey citizenship through Ius Sanguinis). The definition of "Natural-Born Citizen" adopted by the United States Supreme Court, the deciding voice on Constitutional matters, is that given by Vattel in "The Law of Nations" which requires that, for a person to be a "Natural-born Citizen," they be born in the country to two parents who are both citizens of that country. His father's British citizenship, due to Kenya's colonial status in 1961, makes him ineligible. Those are the facts. That is the law. He is not eligible.

Stupid runs very, very, deep in some people. Started with the McCain campaign? What a short memory you have. The birth certificate controversy was initiated by the Clinton campaign when they claimed to have obtained Obama's Kenyan certificate. At any rate, as Son of Liberty explained very well, born within one of the states or territories of the United States of America or not – valid birth certificate or none – Obama is not eligible because he is beholden to the rule of a foreign state – the United Kingdom. But if you want to talk about stupid, do you honestly think it is the responsibility of the FBI, CIA, or NSA to investigate the eligibility of a presidential candidate? Are you remotely informed of the general activities of those agencies? That is only the beginning of your stupidity, however. I'm not sure you realize how much money $100 billion is, but I can assure you the combined budget of those three agencies is not $100 billion. The FBI operates on a budget totaling about $3.1 billion per year, and the NSA totaling about $3.6 billion. If you happen to somehow know what the budget of the CIA is, you should contact a couple of news media companies and request a few thousands dollars in exchange for your information, as the CIA's budget is classified. It is not $93.3 billion dollars though (and it is not unlimited either, as some claim).

Jefferson County PA both have the seal of PA on it. Also if you have one US citzen parent and born even in another country you are a citzen of the USA. So what is the big deal he is a US Citzen!!!!!!! Norma, it was not quite as simple as that in 1961. There are two problems with Obama's eligibility. First, his mother was 19 when Obama was born – not old enough to transfer citizenship under the laws at the time. Second, even had he been born a citizen, he cannot possibly be a "natural born" citizen, which requires that both of his parents would have been citizens (his father was not a United States citizen). His birth certificate is actually completely irrelevant. It doesn't matter whether Obama was born in Hawaii or Kenya. He is not a natural born citizen. He is not eligible for the office of President of the United States of America. As a side note, have you ever applied for a Passport? If so, did you have any trouble using your birth certificate as a verifying document? It would be very difficult to obtain a US Passport with a birth certificate as you have described yours. Obama hasn't even bothered to offer a birth certificate like yours though. All he has shown is an image generated by the state of Hawaii in 2008 that says he is a citizen. They can print those at will.

what makes this impossible to believe is the fact that Senator McCain who is a very wealthy man and whose wife is 10 times wealthier and the Clinton's were running against him and if there was the slightest hint of ineligibility for any reason they( with their money and power) would have ferreted such information out and used it to disqualify the man- toot sweet. No doubt in my mind. They wanted the oval office so desperately they spent tens of millions of dollars of their own money. Let this dog lie! It is dead!!

If he is legit. wouldn't it be easier for him to just produce a birth certificate and end the speculation? I don't think he can.

President Obama has produced the only type of birth certificate available to a person born in the state of Hawaii. The republican governor of Hawaii has gone to the Office of Records in Hawaii, examined the certificate and declared it valid. Also his passport has been published numerous times additionally validating the birth of President Barack Obama to be a citizen of the United States of America. His birth took place in Hawaii because his Mothers parents were long time residents of Hawaii. Both his mother and father achieved Doctorates during their lifetime. Expecting their first child would these two intelligent, educated individuals have chosen an American Hospital near family and friends for a dirt floor in a primitive country? Would his Mother choose to give birth near her Mom and Dad or halfway around the world in a country foreign to her? Would all the wealthy and powerful people in the world who would rather lie down in a bed of fire ants than have a Black,Liberal,Democrat as President actually have not engaged detective agencies and political operatives to find incontrovertible proof of your assertion ?

lets be very honest here people. Those that just won't believe that Obama is a naturally born America are really just upset that a black man is in the office. Moreover, it is a black man whose father was born a muslim. Hiding behind the false notion that he wasn't born here just doesn't fly. Really, do you think the ENTIRE democratic party would let a guy run for and become president if there was a snowballs chance in hell that he'd be kicked out or not eligible? Really? Are you guys that dense? We can all agree that most politicians are out there to protect their own butts and in it for themselves and the people that fund them. So, you think a Peolosi, a Reid, a Schumer, or a Clinton would want to be associated with a party that put a non-American in the White House? Would you? Ya, I didn't think so. Therefore, why hide your bigotry and hate? - call it like it is. You don't want Obama in the WHITE house because he's a BLACK and because we generally are very scared of all muslims right now because they are the reason that your lot in life is what it is and all the problems of the world are because of them. Humm...kinda sounds like the propaganda that Hitler used to say about all the jews.
