Sarah Palin and the Half-Baked Republicans (Rated PG due to recklessness)

As Palin exits from Alaskan politics, are the Neocons dressing up their agenda in high-heels and lipstick, hoping the soft sell will give them the White House in 2012, or is the reason much simpler?

Bring the boys back home

The United Kingdom should stop fighting distant wars and meddling in global military matters. That’s the view of Kim Howells, who until last year was the minister responsible for Afghanistan.

“There are a lot of questions and we need answers”

We ask the questions that need to be asked, which the media either do not ask or simply not cover, states one of the organizers of the “We are Change” group, Saad Ali.

US hits nerve, calls Russia’s most-wanted terrorist a “rebel leader”

Russian authorities are dismayed at the conspicuous absence of Doku Umarov, the architect of last month’s brutal attack on the Moscow Metro, on Washington’s annual list of terrorists.

Nine years on, 9/11 jury is still out

On the ninth anniversary of the worst terror attacks to strike the US mainland, many questions remain unanswered, not least of all concerning the true identities of the perpetrators.

Is the US media leading America to (another) war?

In the past, war reporters bravely followed soldiers into the jaws of war. Today, it looks like the soldiers are embedded in the media instead, simply going along for the story.

Obama has announced the partition of Pakistan - Webster Tarpley

A former NATO officer claims US Special Forces have conducted secret raids inside Pakistan's border regions. The operations were conducted between 2003 and 2008, but only one was ever made public.

Desperation: The face of the next American Revolution?

Historically, Americans have always been suspicious and even paranoid of government intrusiveness in their lives, so is the recent spate of bloodshed a normal phenomenon?

President Barack Obama is hoping that his decision to end military operations in Iraq will silence his many critics, but with midterm elections fast approaching, this is mission impossible.

"Now the politically cynical out there are probably yelling, ‘But Iraq is still a basket case!’ While that is certainly true, it is no longer America’s basket case. And never mind that it was Uncle Sam who turned Iraq into a basket case to begin with, or that there are still 50,000 US troops inside of that embattled basket case. In American politics, you take your victories where you can find them." (Robert Bridge) There is no victory in Iraq, in Afghanistan, in Yemen and in Pakistan for the empire of Chaos. The empire of chaos will self destruct itself sooner than later. There will be no victory for the empire. Only bad news is waits head. In reality, Obama needs these soldiers to accelerate the Pentagon program of slaughter not only in Afghanistan and Pakistan but in other places such as Yemen and Somalia. I am amazed how not only right wing nutcases such as Sarah Palin but supposedly critical commentators cannot admit the dept of the U.S economic, moral and military crises. http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=20804

The malaise of the decaying empire of chaos is clear from not only the wild rhetoric of Sarah Palin and Glen Beck but the widespread cultural of militarism in U.S society as a whole. Just take a look at today’s edition of leading media outlets in the U.S: the message is the same: no admission of guilt, no admission of committing perhaps the greatest crime against humanity and war of aggression against a sovereign state since WWII. No apology in bring death and destruction to the people of Iraq. This article is but an example of this collective amnesia in the American society. The following link is one of the few exceptions I came across that name and articulates the magnitude of moral, economic and political failure of the U.S as a result of the 2003 the U.S illegal invasion of Iraq. In today’s edition of the Guardian, Simon Jenkins wrote an excellent piece about this stopic. This article is a summary - without analysis- of President Obama’s 20 minutes Orwellian doublespeak. http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=20866

I don't know who they think they are fooling other than the idiots they normally fool! The US occupation of Japan was sustainable because (1) the US distributed land to the Japanese peasants and supervised the establishment of a capitalist political economy, which was all told better on behalf of ordinary people than feudalism, although not a full "liberation"; and (2) due to the fear of the Communist International. The US occupation of Germany (a/k/a Europe) was sustainable due to the fear of the Communist International and because of the Marshall Plan. In the occupation of Iraq, none of these characteristics exist.
