This is getting well out of hand. A very dangerous situation has been created in Pakistan by the actions of the US and the inactions of Pakistans very weak (and alledgedly corrupt) civillian government. Would the US military, or indeed its citizens, allow even its closest of its 'allies' to kill its citizens in the mainlaind, even if it was in some 'backwater', and even if they were suspected of being criminals of some sort? Would the UK?, would Russia? You can be pretty sure the answer would be NO. It is therefore only a matter of time before the highly disiplined and well trained senior military officers - who are restraining themselves because of this disipline, act to defend their homeland and its people from foreign aggression (however well intended this 'aggression' may be). It will only take 1 General, who from what I have seen are well educated, well trained (many of which are graduates of the Royal Military Academy in England) yet often underestimated, to 'call time' on these attacks and give the order to 'engage the enemy' to defend thier country. We have already seen one or two incidents of reservists / border guards taking matters into their own hands and engaging NATO forces venturing inside Pakistan, so we know that we are close to boiling point. I can not remember, in recent history, ever seeing a potent military force restrained by its own government in order to allow another country to kill its own citizens on its own soil. I can almost feel the anger of the Pakistani people from all the way here in the UK.

All this action and others like it are doing are justifying terrorist attacks worldwide. We will pay the price when there are more atrocities on English soil. What is the difference between this type of state sponsered terrorism and Al Queda?I never voted to send soldiers anywhere but it will be future generations who will suffer, my kids and grandkids will be involved in a civil war.I hate to be so negative but i feel it is already to late.

i rest my case on nato. it is a machine and it kills. it is a money machine and it pays. mass murderers and insatiably greedy cannibalistic golden calf worshipers are nato - do not believe this? open eyes, ears heart, head and of course, the spirit of being human. who would want to do this to human beings? who would do this to countries where there is nothing but simplicity? the criminally insane nato.

These are all extra-judicial killings, and not allowed under international law. The problem we have all over the world is media. Totally under the control of narrow interest groups, they are in no position to question anything at all. There is absoutely no way to tell if the people targeted for killing by drones have done anything illegal at all. And even if a person in a household or a village is politically oriented, that does not make them automatically criminals. Their political orientation may have something to do with local or national politics in Pakistan, but that is a far cry from claiming that the individuals killed are involved in an armed conspiracy against US. In fact, I doubt that any of the people killed by drones are involved in such armed conspiracy. They may be enemies of the current Pakistani government, but frankly I do not see that it is our duty to be a nanny to foreign governments. I am noticing a dangerous trend in news reporting, and even RTV is not immune to that. Without batting an eyelash, the claim is made that people killed are all militants. First of all, we do not know that. RTV can quote a source of information, and stay agnostic as to the claim's validity. It is important to keep the distance between the claim and the reporter. The truth may be quite different, in fact, it is highly likely that the truth is quite different. If possible, a good reporter may develop alternative sources to follow up on such events, to ascertain closer to the ground, the real story. The use of drones leaves civilians vulnerable. It indiscriminately liquidates whole villages or groups of homes. The net effect is always death, maiming and displacing of civilians. The impact on basic necessities for living is catastrophic, as most of these region's economy is dependent on the combination of low level farming and pastoralism. The only economy that remains after the displacement is crime and banditry.

Drones have been used for decades and are very reliable and effective. There is as much of a chance for a mistake using a piloted aircraft as using a drone. The main difference is that a pilot is not lost when a drone is shot down/crashes. War is hell and there is no "PREFERRED" politically correct way of killing the enemy. This is the nature of all wars, not just this one. If the TERRORISTS put down their weapons and cease terrorism, then there will be no war. It has been and continues to be the TERRORISTS who keep the war going by their attacks on innocent people and their mass murders. The DRONE is just a valuable tool for those fighting terrorism.

I agree with the last comment is why I am repeating it: Drones have been used for decades and are very reliable and effective.
