Is the US media leading America to (another) war?

In the past, war reporters bravely followed soldiers into the jaws of war. Today, it looks like the soldiers are embedded in the media instead, simply going along for the story.

Many atheists and secularists in Europe would like to see the role back of organized religion in public life accelerated. But none of them would advocate burning the Koran or Bible. Book burning has a history in Europe that only a fascist could be proud of. Some copies of all religious text should be kept so that future generations may be entertained by the bizarre beliefs of their ancestors.

Robert Bridge knows, or at least should know, that this impending ceremonial burning of the Qur’an is but the latest symbolic public expression of the U.S anti-Muslim agenda since WWII. The United States’s policymakers, media outlets and economic policies have been and still are primarily anti-Muslim. I often asked myself why the United States follows blatantly anti-Muslim policies when it depends the Muslim world so much? Today, if the ME-which is controlled through military domination and not with dialogue by the United States- decides to trade its oil in other currencies that will be the end of the U.S dollar global position. Yet, the majority of Americans have extremely hostile views of Muslims. This is not the fault of ordinary people in the United States; the U.S neocon/liberal ruling elite have fomented anti-Islamic feelings in the United States for decades. It is telling that General David Patraeus’s primary concern in the event that this impending ceremonial Qur’an burning takes place is that Muslims will “turn on” the occupying U.S troops in Afghanistan and the ME! What about hurting the feeling of 1.5B Muslims or damaging broader the U.S economic, political and trade relationships with the Muslim world? The fact of the matter, this narrow framing of the repercussion of Muslim reaction to the said Qur’an burning ceremony shows General Patraeus tacit recognition that ruling elite in the U.S has nothing else to tell Christian fundamentals than this action may harm American lives! Regardless of what way the new Mosque in New York and the Qur’an burning ceremony go, the U.S will continue to loss its iron grip in the Muslim world. Thus, no amount fake gesture of a Wahabi Saudi Arabia financed mosque in New York is going to reverse the U.S declining position in the Muslim world.

He is not a pastor and his church is not a church ...It's rather a some kind of black sects which are in normal state impossible to have. They just keep coming and coming in Usa...In any traditional Church(Catholics,Ortodox,Protestant or Anglican),to become a "preacher" you have to finish sometimes 10 plus years of education(university and more) and live in harsh code of true believer etc.....Probable in Usa this sects serve state to keep floks in haos...Anyway, I can not even think, of any ordinary humble human from any religion, who will come to insane idea of burning any holy book..It is a crazy as it can be to even think of doing something like that.At least I never heard of any muslim clerics(From Iraq,Afhganistan,Iran,Libanon,Sudan etc) that like to burn Bible even when they been victims for 1000 year of those who in the name of "white God" rob them of their lifes, land, freedom and goods...As for Mosque on the side of 9/11, I think is wrong! Not becouse I believe that muslim terrorist did it(some of so call terrorists-pilots, who flies those planes are well and alive and today in S.Arabia drive civil aircrafts-open reinvestigation on 9/11 as majority of Usa citizens wants to proove once more and for all, who is behind this terrorist act) but becouse I belive on this spot shall be build monument and not anything else...No amount of money from S.Arabia shall change that..Also to build mosque(anywhere else is fine) on this place is so wrong becouse majority of victims been Christians. Even idea of S.Arabia to be part in this is rude if you think that they themselfs, will never give permision to build a Church on place where huge no.of muslim die...Thats why, in my opinion ,is wrong ...But,Money is suprime religion-God in Usa which explain a lot of rest irational doing....Thank you.

Our soliders are already in a dangerous place or places! What does one want the America people to do? Let our soliders die in the midle east, and those who return to the United States, are slaped in the face, by Obama and others, rewarding the muslims with allowing the muslims to build a mosque, not only in New york, but other states as well. Do you know that the muslims are attempting to build another mosque closer to ground zero, than the 13 story one representing the 13 colonies of America. It's true the muslims are trying to build a 5 story mosques closer to ground zero, than the other mosque site. I have no problem backing Dr. Jones, this is a Christian Nation! Those who speak, have not read the Qur'an, Hadith, Sura, and have no idea what the sharia laws are. detroit MI is already under a part of the sharia law1 Our banks, who do business with the middle east, have entered in a contract or agreement using the sharia laws. If muslims want mercy...go to church! muhammad came 623 years after my Lord Jesus the Christ. There was no need for another! Sorry muhammad!

What about the Muslims who burned and are even today destroy Christian churches? Oh yeah I forgot, that's okay. Religion in very dangerous when it is in the hands of stupid people.

Yet another proof that religious lunatics should be barred from participating in political affairs and impose their twisted views on the rational human beings. They fit definition of a psychopath perfectly. The only difference between that sect and "traditional" sects is their size and ability to influence those in power.

Think about this folks. This man was a nobody until he started his Qu'ran burning foolishness. Now he is becoming rich off the stupid people who are giving his "Tax Exempt Church" lots of money. It's purely a publicity stunt - that has been well received by the wideworld media support. If the media would have ignored this man, then nobody would know who he is! I personally think that he's not going to do it, since the Lord has blessed him with all of these "tax exempted donations." Having said that, he will probably have to dress up in disguise for the rest of his miserable life.

Nico - "Moral high ground" or "tit for tat". Biblically, this is the conflicting message between "turn the other cheek" and "an eye for an eye". Although not a Christian, I think Gandhi had the right idea, which wasn't too far from my understanding of what Jesus was all about. Too much Old Testament thinking in some "Christian" churches, which equates to selective interpretations. This preacher is a nutter and is no more representative of the majority of Christians than a few zealots who strap bombs to themselves are representative of Muslims. Neither helps the cause of peace, love and understanding.

All the pastor did was to prove that the Quran is the word of God. This brings back an old memory of the burning bush where Moses heard the voice of Allah. Gainsville Florida and the Bible belt experienced a nice storm lately!
