Russia needs to deploy the Iskander missile to Kaliningrad before the arrival of the Patriots missile to show the US that Russia is not playing games with this kind of crazy decisions of the Obama administration , I think we are worst now than with Bush, at least with Bush we knew what kind decisions he can take but with Obama is a riddle.

Russian decisions'makers have there, an other example of America's N-PiPO sincerity. It is obvious than those missiles' location was imposed by Washington... When will we make the exact audit of the actual mankind' governance and make the radical changes necessary. We could start by requesting the polish leaders bank-accounts transactions...Sorry Future Generations ! Sincerely. Jean-Claude Meslin

If Russia wants to have friendly neighbours, I have an utterly radical suggestion to make to it: make your words, actions and policies friendly towards them.

Just more of the usual Polish agression towards Russia. They are always engaged in some agressive act or other against Russia, be that by subversive means or open military means. However, whilst the Plotting Poles like to try to puff up their chest when they have a supporting big brother, they never really represent any tangible threat in overt military terms themselves. The real military danger however, is the use of these defensive assets, by the US and NATO during their planned assault on Russia in pursuit of natural resources. Which is their intended purpose for them. We probably need some defensive Iskanders to make sure that we can take them out quickly, before they can protect the standard US and NATO illegal invasion on another sovereign country..

Ignore them with this stuff. They say it isn't political, but it is. However, the people of Poland aren't the government. It is sad they are placing US troops in there country while everyone who has them in their country are trying to get them out! I would be careful with responding to Poland as this is really the US and NATO issue with Polish government talking heads. Of course there are Polish people skeptical of Russia, siting past events for their worries, but these issues go right back to the governments playing tit for tat. Poland itself isn't a threat to anyone, but Poland being used by the US to get closer to Russia is a threat. That should be fought through different channels, not by playing chess with War Machinery. That just polarizes people in their respective nations and only inches people closer to a real war. To argue Russia is antagonizing its neighbors is also silly. They are now in reactionary mode to endless provocations by NATO and the bordering states, using Russia as a cover for domestic issues. Like all who talk about imminent threats of neighbors, if you don't react to them and the threats never materialize they become removed in office for lying to their people and wasting taxes on senseless defense programs.

@Marzipan... maybe if the neighbours want to have a friendly Russia they should drop the Nato nonsense thing .... but i guess that the top people of those countries are making to much money or have large debts to be friendly

The US REALLY needs to stop thinking it has the duty to police the world. These anti-ICBM missles will ensure that in the event of deteriorated negotiations between Russia and anyone, the US will be right at RU's doorstep with missle silos capable of firing more than just anti-ICBM missles. I think, Russia should try negotiating a balance of power during the START treaty talks by explaining that it is just as reasonable for Russia to place it's own anti-ICBM missles in Cuba or Mexico as it is for the US to place these "Patriot" missles in Poland.

How very right CountCash is when he says that Poles are always engaged in some aggressive act or other against Russia! Russia’s joint destruction of Poland in 1939 with its Nazi ally was a terrible Polish act of aggression against Russia. So was the mass murder of more than 20,000 Polish officers, intellectuals and policemen by Russia at Katyn in 1940. Shameless Polish anti-Russian aggression, really. Another example of Poland’s anti-Russian aggression was Russia’s turning part of the Auschwitz camp, which it “liberated”, into a KGB prison camp. This was an appropriate microcosm of Russia’s “liberation” of Poland as a whole, under the terms of which it squeezed democracy out of Poland and kept the country under Soviet Russia’s fist and cut off from the rest of Europe and the world for over 40 years behind the Iron Curtain. Another terrible Polish anti-Russian aggression was the Gdansk movement that sought to bring genuine trade unionism to Poland. Frightful examples of Polish aggressions against Russia, all of these. How dare those Poles do all this stuff to Russia? I'm certainly glad that CountCash has blown the whistle on them.

People cheer up :D! I love how Patriots are called offensive and Iskanders defensive by Cash - all hail to the russian logic where defense is attack and attack is defense ;). I mean in russian eyes Poland doesnt even have a right to defend itself - all we must do is bow down to the russian bear and politely ask every time we want to take a breath like in the old times :>. Poland is independent from You and can do anything and can host any weapons from any country and any troops from wherever they are on our land (not Yours I remind You). I never heard that polish officials could do fuss about russian soldiers in Belarus - You are in Belarus so in Poland other NATO guys are welcome too (and they already are - Germans and Danes most). I also love when someone mentions Iskander as a remedy to everything - sorry dudes those wont do a thing. Kaliningrad is so small that any Iskander stationed here would be blasted in case of emergency by conventional means before it would fire. The same goes for stationing them in Belarus - dont You know that Poland bought from Norway and Sweden nice shining new batteries short range quasibalistic missles last Year? So chill out - stop those russian phobias. No one wants to attack You - those are simply defensive measures against You. I am really getting afraid what would happen if Poland would bought some US Tomahawks that could reach Moscow (even though Iskanders can hit Warsaw already) - hilarious russian uproar :D.

Rodrigo, according to the Moscow Centre for Strategy and Technology Analysis, the Iskander-M system was combat-tested in the 2008 South Ossetia war with Georgia and it proved highly effective in destroying military targets and infrastructure. Where as the Patriot Missles have zero offensive abilities. Please do a little research before making such a threatening statement. How is having a defensive protective system a threat to Russia? Please explain this to me.

@Marzipan ... how about naming the cause of the retribution against the Polish government ... like Poland attacking Russia in 1920's when they had internal problems ... and many times before ... so Poland has to think carefelly before they act ... drop the attitude before something happens to them again and it will be their own fault again .

Count Cash January 22, 2010, 12:05 quote

A lesson in logic for the Plotting Poles - The US and its coalition of the killing invent a story about Iraq regarding WMD, they then attack Iraq as a defensive measure. So The US used the logic of attack as a defensive strategy based on the lie they created, which resulted in a war crime. Without the lie, if the threat was sound, then of course their actions would have been sound militarily and legally, based on self defence. You don't need wait until you are detroyed to attack. Also the US don't want defensive missiles sold to Iran, wonder why, becuase the defensive capability would augment its offensive capability. For any one who actually understands military strategy and especially Russian strategy will know, we were always based on an attck first principle when threatened with overt military attack or when subversive political attack is underway or planned. This is indeed why Poland got attacked when it was trying to undermine and destroy the Soviet Union. It seems only the EU Eastern europeans have a failed logic, ones who believe an army is split into offence and defence teams, defence ones that can't be blaimed for the attrocities of the offensive team, because they were in the defensive team. Defence teams that shouldn't be attacked, How quaint and silly! But then again the Polish knowledge on military strategy is just about as sound as their knowledge on missiles. But the key issue is the same; as the Plotting Poles work in an agressive military fashion towards Russia, they risk crossing the threshold where Russia will react in self defence again. Then it will be interesting to see where NATO and the US is, maybe they could be further away than you think!

To Marzipan and others I am not a military expert and I can not say whether the installation of Patriot missiles in Poland is really a matter of defence or not, but I am very sorry for sufferings that people of Eastern Europe had to endure during WWII and soviet rule. I like particularly Polish culture (Chopin is my believed musician), but you have to understand that at present Europe needs more unity and good relations with Russia are advisable, even necessary (not only for gas import). America is going away from European politics and culture. NATO was a very good organization in the past and we were US allies during the Cold War, but now European countries are facing serious challenges to their survival and Americans (or their rulers) are not helping us; it seems that they are even acting unfriendly and supporting european antidemocratic forces against our governments (especially in Italy). Now America is no more exporting any democratic ideal in the world, but only its interests. I fear that US will exploit Poland for surrounding militarily Russia, they will gradually undermine your traditional and catholic values and then will leave you alone.

This ANTI-MISSILE system would not be in Poland or any other former Soviet republic if these countries were not so afraid of Russia. After the Russian aggression against Georgia last year and similar threats against Ukraine ( OUR Crimea) or any other former Soviet republic, has all of these counties very weary of what is going to happen to their county’s freedom. The Islander missile would not be a threat to the Patriot missile system as it was proven time after time in Iraq (earlier versions), which is why Russia is not happy with this system being so close to its borders.
