Russia seems to have a mental block against comprehending that if it wants a different and better relationship with its neighbours, it needs to behave differently and better towards them, and to make a clean break from both the norms of Soviet-era behaviour and from its dishonest treatment of its Soviet-era history.

@Marzipan6 Marzipans lies again who conveniently dismisses the fact that the US and Europe support financed and installed and trained by western governments and mass media an 84%+ non Russian government whose western backers genocided the ethnic Russian people the largest genocide in history covered up and supported by the western media , financial assistance and industrial investment especially in 33 onwards when the US and Britain and others initiated a rapid industrialisation plan in there future war against Germany to eliminate it a competitor whose aggression was organised, financed and approved from abroad. Or how the US is overthrowing governments in CIA coloured coups and installing fascists governments in Ukraine with the Orange crowd affiliated with Neo-Nazi paramilitary groups and Georgia. As far as aggression goes it is NATO, US and EU that are invading sovereign countries, fighting proxy wars, supporting international organised crime and Islamic terrorism including against Russia which is a FACT. It is only a matter of time before NATO launches its war against Russia from the Baltics and Poland probably sparked from a CIA false flag attack in Estonia or the other Baltic states. Might start as a response against with Russia with Estonians or even the Poles for that matter attacking and harassing ethnic Russians like Poland did to ethnic Germans killing 5,500 in Broomberg initiating a German intervention so England would intervene on Poland’s behalf sparking WW2.

Johnx, Absolutely correct, Poland is a very dangerous country, it is just picking up where it left off before WWII, when it was actively trying to destroy the Soviet Union with terrorism and subversion. It is now undertaking development of chemical weapons and is building its agrresion towards Russia on a continual basis, it is linking up with the Baltic Nazis, to continue on ths path. The Baltic Nazis were responsible for the death of over half a million Russians on their Nazi crusade. They are now glorifying Nazism in order to build further aggression towards Russia. However, don't be too pessimistic, we dealt with these Nazis before, and can do it again, technology is a wonderful thing.

@Marzipan6 The behavior of the Polish government has been bizarre ever since the communist government collapsed in that country. Their anti-Sovietism is only exceeded by the anti-Sovietism of Marzipan6, whose credibility on RT comments is no higher than nil. Don't you get tired of propagating anti-Russian lies? Give me the the example of another Empire where all the peripheral countries (Soviet states minus Russia) lived better than Russia? Only an agent sponsored by a foreign entity would have the time and the persistence to attempt to manipulate the minds of the ignorant like you try to do. Don't you feel shame when you are rightly rebuked by everybody else on RT?

It is evident that polish corrupted politicians make the decision but most polish citizen have so many problems to solve for their every day living than they can care less weither the US soldiers come or not. In such a case, like in many other, all over the World, just check and make public the banks'accounts in fiscal paradises of all those putain-politicians. America's Obama should have received the Nobel Price for corruption, not for peace; what a shame !!! Sorry Future Generations...Sincerely. Jean-Claude Meslin

Armen08 claims I “propagate anti-Russian lies.” This is remarkable, as I am not anti-Russian, I deeply regret the suffering which the Soviet regime visited on both Russians and their neighbors, and very much wish for a better future for both. A lie is “an untrue statement made with intent of deceiving.” Leaving aside the magic whereby Armen08 can apparently read my intents and confidently announce what they are, I invite him to set out three untruths from my posts, and detail with verifiable data why they actually are untrue. If Armen doesn’t take up this challenge, we must draw appropriate conclusions. As for non-Russian Soviet states living better than Russia, most didn’t, but Estonia certainly did. It had a much higher standard of living in the inter-War period than Russia, had the highest standard of living in the SU, and since the collapse of the SU has and continues to have a much higher standard of living than Russia. This is because Estonia has a different kind of work ethic, personal initiative and civic and governance values than Russia. Recognizing this, Soviet Moscow used Estonia as a test region in the SU – Moscow thought that if anyone could make Communist theory work, Estonians could. Moscow’s singling it out did not make Estonia the most advanced part of the Soviet Union; rather, Moscow singled it out because it already was the most advanced part of the Soviet Union. However, comparing Estonia with Russia in the SU is an entirely fallacious. In 1939 Estonia’s standard of living was not only higher than Russia’s, but also slightly higher than Finland’s. But by 1991 Soviet captivity had reduced it to the general shambolic Soviet norms, and by then it was only something like 25% of Finland’s! If not for its Soviet occupation, Estonia’s standard of living would still be similar to Finland’s today but as it is, it is far lower, and will be for perhaps another twenty years. So much for Soviet blessings.

@marzipan6 It is not Russia that has a mental block. it is the US. Russia is trying to mprove International relations, It entered nuclar missile reduction talks, cancelled delivery of air-defence missiles to Iran. What has US done? Much publicity, and praise was given to Obama concerning the withdrawal of the planned missile shield, However Poland is hosting a Patriot surface-to-air missiles, which the United States claimed would be a dummy varietiey, Poland has stated the missiles will in fact be combat-ready. Poland is now also having US troops stationed in Poland to "re-train" its army. Also lets not forget the SM-3 mobile missile system, which is to be placed in Poland, Czech Republic "may be" in Ukraine, no doubt will also be in Afghanistan as US will remain there for decades, and despite denials at present also Georgia, and lets not forget Balric States. Russia will find itself surrounded. One can not dismiss the feeling that the CIA with its Polish allies will invent an excuse to strike. It is the US that needs to behave differently

To Zak, who tells that the Polish government “always promote anti-Russian stance without any real reason.” No one does anything without reason. That reason may or may not be valid, it may or may not be realistic, but it is a reason. Poland had been wiped off the map of nations by powerful and cynical neighbours more than once in its history. Its foreign oppression ended a mere 20 years ago. It has reason for showing little patience or trust towards one of the primary perpetrators of horrors against it that has not admitted to its crimes against it, and that seeks to twist and turn and justify itself at every instance in regard to these. Germany does not operate in its relations to Poland on a basis of lies, and has sought genuine and heartfelt reconciliation with the Polish nation and people. As a result, Polish misgivings about Germany are not very active, and are deep beneath the surface. By contrast, Russia has made no similar reconciliation with Poland, and the wounds of its abuse of Polish people are a mere 20 years old. Why should the Polish response to Russia’s past and present behaviour be surprising? Poland has a reason for its attitude towards Russia. Russians can begin to understand it if they are willing to make a genuine effort to see themselves and their behaviour through Polish eyes. However, Russia has a history of being very poor at seeing anything through the eyes of others.

Last night the Interfax agency announced that Polish Foreign Minister's call for the US troops to prevent Russian aggression (which quite rightly angered so many) was in fact a journalist's mistake, a statement 'contrary to the facts'. Interfax apologised both to the minister and the public. Shame that this apology has been only available to the agency's subscribers - apparently under a misleading title - and it surely will go by unnoticed among wider public. Shall we, at least, take this fact into consideration and stop warmongering on this forum?...

Marzipan6: You seem to be a very smooth operator. You got me again. But for the last time. In almost all your entries I read nothing but vitriol against Russia. It is an instinctive reaction. Or a job. I don't know. So, claiming not to be anti-Russian is your first lie. Your second lie consists of unfounded, superficial, non-corroborated, and eclectic blurts about serious historical events that need to be discussed in all their facets. You isolate Estonia and blame the Soviet Union for untold atrocities against the Estonian people. Well, you forget to mention that Russia went through a revolutionary period of consolidation and had to win against two enemies that threatened its very existence: the reaction and the Western powers. And Russia was the country that suffered most at the hands of the agents Denikin and Kolchak. All countries that joined the Soviet Union went through similar experiences. I am not excusing the excesses or the wrongs that were committed by the revolutionaries in their zeal to create a brave new world. But the success of the revolution was of utmost importance. That is why Russia singed the Brest-Litovsk treaty with Germany, giving up vast territories in order to gain peace. Your third lie concerns the number and manner of the Estonian casualties during Sovietization. I would love to have a reasonable number about the Kulaks (anti-revolutionaries) who were deported and massacred heinously by the Soviets. While not justifying any atrocity, but we are talking about revolutionary times when Russia was fighting an existential war on two fronts: internal and external. Under such circumstances excesses will definitely occur on both sides, even if they cannot be excused. Yet you depict the Russians--the proud inheritors of Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, Pushkin, Tchaikovsky--as savage Neanderthals.

Countries like Poland and Great Britain make me sick, always crying about Russia or E-U. If the United States of America are so great, why don't they join them. Polish workers will go to work in the USA instead of taking our jobs and British will leave us alone, once and for all. The only problem for those two unhappy peoples, American are no fools; they like to make troubles for other but they do not want to see troubles crossing the Oceans in their direction. Bests Regards...JCM
