Wow, there was only one approach? This is not good - it will just be fodder for more conspiracy theorists.

As long as the Russian government is involved in this investigation, Poles will never know what really caused the crash. I suspect it was foul play from the Russians who were very disgruntled by the missiles being put into Poland and the president getting closer with the U.S and NATO.

I've heard another conspiracy theory, that it was somebody within the EU who was angry at Kaczinsky because he was prepared, at last, to say nice things about Russia during his visit. He had been influential in keeping the zloty as Poland's currency, not converting to the euro. Also, Obama had already said he was reversing the Bush decision to place missiles in Poland. The plotters had the added bonus of making Russia look bad, while getting rid of an uncooperative player in European politics. I've run across a half-dozen other conspiracy theories, if we want to compare stories.

@Freedom It is a joint Polish and Russian investigation. Whoever was the president they would be pro NATO/US and the missile shield was arranged and agreed upon during the 90's. More likely it would be foul play by other parties than Russia to spark a confrontation and war against Russia. Say Georgia or Britain. Remember the Racak hoax that was pretext for the Kosovo war?

92 top heads of state on one old plane. One approach landing. The president of Poland snubbed the EU, US, NATO, and the euro. Who wouldn't think it was a conspiracy.

This joint Polish-Russian investigation will come up with truth....In my opinion pilots been warned about almost 0 visibility (all recorded) from Minsk and Moskow -before he even try to land...They told the pilots about danger but pilots refuse to land in Minsk and Moskow and Just 30 minutes before the crash a very exp.pilots of Russia millitary plane did not want even to try to land(they land many times there and they know airfild like their pockets) and they go on another airfild! I believe that Russia is last state to wish something like this happend on their territory after all! If even Russia wish for something like this to happend -they can done that somewhere else with no problem at all!I am sure Russia got nothing to do with this ...I also do not believe that pilots diside for themself to land-on their own risk! Comemoration of Katyun massacre was starting in about 30 minutes and also (I suspect) was not politicaly correct to land in Minsk or Moskow(3-4 hours of drive to Katyun) after all....Weather conditions and pilots fault(probable order from someone else)are most likely reasons for this crash! The plane was also in roadworty condition to...To die on the same spot of Katyun massacre is indeed mistical.WHAT A CRUEL FATE!!!!.My honest condolences to Polish people.. Thanke you!

Why was my web links not included in the comment one being an RT article? http://rt.com/Top_News/2008-11-30/Motorcade_shooting_was_a_Georgian_stunt___Poland.html http://dalje.com/en-world/snipers-from-croatia-supposed-to-kill-kostunica/161847 @Goldenrice Whose idea was it to put all of Polands top military and government officials on one plane rather than seperate transport? Even though they were attending a Katyn ceremony that is a shocking lack of security procedures.

Guys really keep those conspiracy theories steady - this was clearly a accident, and accidents just happen regardless of security measures. Regarding those top military officials - Poland is not Russia in this matter, personals are not so important. Polish constitution and security laws are constructed that way so when one person goes on the plane their advisor/backup comes in their place on their abscence (I remind You this was introduced before entering NATO when there was risk that Russia will try to reinforce their own rule on Poland). There was no breakup in polish military and political leadership - people where already on their seats before this accident happened.

@from Poland Refreshingly candid response. I hope this incident is not used as a pretext by US/Britain for there war against Russia and China and affiliated establishment mass media we have here in the UK and US like we did against the Serbs.

First of all..My condolences go out to All of Poland for this great tragety... and mostly to the families of the victims, sometimes its over looked when someone of fame and power dies because their relationship between the victim is thru telivision... I hope the Polish people find the truth about the crash.. Political plane crashes happen all the time in the USA keeping powerful rich men in power.. Bush's/Clintons I was born in '84 and have pretty much had 2 families in office my whole life... I hope the people of poland arent as influenced by the media as we are in the United States. And that they do their own investigation to the crash.. I dont believe Russia is responsible for the crash, much like they werent responsible for the Kennedy assassination in Dallas, Texas. There is a higher power at work with no boundaries in which they conduct their business... Americans could've taken down the plane to add tension to Russia and Poland to possibly start a war... the US govt fears Russia and wants an excuse to go to war with Russia,or to start WW3. Knowing the US hasthe alliestodefeat Russia and any countryorperson who learns of there overall agenda of world domination!!

For all of the conspiracies I have read that hint about murder by various parties, none of them take into account the fact that President Kaczynski had only a few months left in office. Whoever disliked him that much (if there really was anybody who did), he only had to wait until the elections. The simplest explanation, and most likely, is that it was a tragic accident.
