Polls show voter dissatisfaction with U.S. Congress

Recent opinion polls show that support for the U.S. Congress is as low as it has been in decades. Nevertheless, journalist Chris Beam cautions that it’s too early to make any predictions.
Pauline; So you want us to be friends with Russia. Well, if Obama has things his way, we'll be the USSR West! Oh, by the way; the Russians didn't defeat Hitler all by themselves, they had the help of a bunch of dirty old capitalist countries including the one you live in!! Remember, if Obamas' health care plan passes, you'll have the priviledge of attending one of those wonderful senior counseling sessions! Isn't that great???

I think what people wanted was a Roosevelt to come in and take charge...and instead, Obama asked permission from the Republicans, whom we had just rejected massively. He didn't get out of Iraq; he expanded the war in Afghanistan. He talked about keeping people in jail without a trial on American soil, which is anathema to most Democrats and even a lot of Republicans. He put all these Republicans in charge in the Cabinet! People wanted a Roosevelt, and instead they got a Clinton II. People need RELIEF. People really want a single payer health care system at least. But Obama took that off the table. Now people who settled for a public option see that Congress is opposing that as well (congress being generic for both the Senate and the Congress). Its all a feeling that nothing will change, except for the worse, which is what has been happening mostly to ordinary Americans since the 1970s. Personally speaking, I went out and gathered signatures for Obama's public option, and then the next week, he claimed it was "just a sliver" of the whole bill! I was FURIOUS. I'm old, have insulin resistance, and its not easy for me to stand out there and collect signatures for hours! I could not even believe how he gave in to them! We see the media giving undue attention to the hired right wing birthers and bashers, and realize that nothing has changed...the same cast of characters rant at us 24/7 on the television, Google still presents the same idiotic set of headlines, and materially, there is no change except for the worst. Personally, I was hoping for a whole different approach to Russia, one of freindship and cooperation, but that too did not materialize...and we are still arming Georgia, which I find terrifying and horrible. I do not want war with Russia! You have to be an addle pated IDIOT to want war with Russia! Look what they did to Hitler!
