The Western media is increasing its presence in the Caucasus region. The US-sponsored Radio Free Europe is preparing to go on air in Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
It will spread "democratic" values? Georgian style? Perhaps it will be good for Abkhazia to hear such "objective" news. As if they themselves did not actully live thorough their own "news", and are eagerly awaiting from someone from the superior beings to tell them how to "understand" their own life and expericence. O what a hubris! But there will be troublemaking, for sure. Instead of helping people of these two countries rebuild and develop, they will spend the money on recruiting disaffected individuals to help them spread the news about "democracy". Perhaps, they should help Latvian's figure out why the Swedish banks practice slavery-style "loans" in Latvia? Why is it that contrary to any laws of any civilized country mortgage obligation extends beyond the collateral? Why is it that after the bank reposesses a house, it continues to hunt the person for the full amount of the loan, even grabbing their salary or pension income? And why is it that young people, being caught up in this permanent slavery to the bank, run away to another country to avoid the life-long servitude? Freedom? Democracy? The First Amendment protects Money. As they say, Money Talks.
@ZviadKavteli Objective thats a joke Radio Liberty and the BBC have been caught lying repeatidly in there stories overseas like the KLA torture camp they said was Serbian or the Iranian pres rally which was editted to look like an Iran opposition one and in the Georgian war were they completely got it wrong. If the Georgians didn't send in troops to crush the republics and kill the civilians to Georgify them under the slogan "Georgia for the Georgians" there would be no war and Georgians would still be living in the regions. Perhaps Radio liberty or the BBC will provide "objective news" to the entire ethnic Russian and non Russian population 200,000-250,000+ of Chechnya and its neighbouring regions ethnically cleansed by CIA backed in a war they created. Seeing how the guy that is running it is a anti Russian pro-Chechen shill who the CIA send to interview Chechen terrorists as propaganda like in the case of Beslan where he claimed he was on holiday and just happened to bump into Russia's most wanted terrorists by accident.
Where is radio free Russia?
They already have a Russia service for years as well as BBC Russia service the MI6 equavilant to Radio Liberty/ Radio Free Europe.
radio brainwashed Europe? Western media will try manipulating you more than anyone else and will try incite serious chauvinism, hatred to make Russia look like serious empire US currently is. Every mainstream is out there to manipulate you, like it or not. There are rather few people willing to tell you objective truth. From mainstream, you wont hear of them. Like it or not, both BBC, Free Europe is yet another mainstream. If you studied how manipulation is made, youd see that perfectly. RT is a mainstream not working for the west- for Russia. They turn stuff to Russia´s perspective, sometimes make it look Russia is all innocent. It of course is not true, everyone has to filter blatant lies, partial information and read multiple sources who dont work for the same masters, because then theyre not different at all. RT on the other hand isnt a soviet style info agency, it doesnt show pleasant things from Russia that dont exist, mute the bad things. What RT and most Russian mainstream does, is marginalize other opinions. But it doesnt eliminate their presence. It is not an aggressive mainstream, but its not all true. Certainly more believable in most things than western msm. This doesnt make some news granted truth. Western aims are traditionally expansionist, western media has to turn reality opposite, while Russia doesnt need that much manipulation to agree with. As far as mainstream goes, I rate RT very good as well as Russia´s intentions.

Good news, bad coverage. It is good that the residents of Abkhazia will have one more news source. I am sure it will be most objective one. The coverage of the story is bad, because it claims that the local population does not like the idea. I am sure that some locals, including ethnic Georgians are happy about the news. In addition, the RT story does not consider the opinion of 200,000 residents of Abkhazia (mostly Georgian) who were forcibly expelled by separatist militia as a result of ethnic cleansing. RT is a Russian propaganda tool, unlike Radio Liberty and BBC who are sponsored by American and British governments, but provide objective coverage.
