As usual, the author glossed over many pertinent factual and analytic terms. For example, he did not mentioned that Ms Albright is still dreaming the U.S full Spectrum dominance over Eurasia and Russia . The article also made no reference to perhaps Ms Albright's most infamous comment that killing half a million Iraqis through U.S sponsored U.N embargo was a price worth paying for the U.S. domination of that country. Russia can learn something about this aspect of Ms Albright’s soul. I think that Russia is doing the right thing. Let NATO- under the leadership of the U.S- exhausted Europe’s moral, economic and political resources through endless wars of aggression, that is if they cannot do any better than that. In the meantime, Russia can rebuild its economy, military, and culture. Russia must not be enticed to forging a closely ties with NATO. Russia should stay the course of fixing its economy and its relations with its economic and strategic partners. Let the U.S and NATO do all the illegal wars of aggression. When they fail, as they must, Russian can move in to secure the peace. Russia is already cleaning up the mess the U.S sponsored colour revolutions had made in central Europe and central Asia.

Russians seem to have short memory. Albright was one of the most anti-Russian US politician. She said that, as a country Russia was too big and had to be cut in parts. The whole NATO is a huge money-making business for Western imperialists. It justify the tremendous wastes of money for military purposes paid by the Worldwide taxpayers. It is an incitement to continue at the same pace the 60 trillions $ paid from 1949 until 2009 for our self-destruction. Beside Albright is linked like all former US Secretary of States (since the Reagan administration) to the American Military Industrial Complex. That woman, sure can not be trusted. I am surprised that Russian decisions-makers pay any attention to such a crooked offer. Stay out! Please; do to your people and the World, a favor. Thank You...Sincerely...Jean-Claude Meslin

I forgot: If NATO goes global; what will be the use to have the United Nations Organization. We will have just to move that headquarter from New-York to Washington D-C ! JCM

Russia, please stay away from the evil United States. Don't believe in their promises. They are traitors. They were friendly with Saddam to sell arms during the Iraq/Iran war and once they didn't need him anymore, they had him killed. How can they pretend to befriend Russia when they are building military bases closer to Russia? Note: I am very disappointed in Russia agreeing with the US to sanction Iran. This is outrageous. Iran, so far, has done nothing wrong. Please veto those evil sanctions. Don't play Obama's game.

Luisa da Silva While I do not completely trust President Medvedev for he is prone often giving contradictory signals on Iran and many other key global issues , Russia is doing a lot behind the scene as much as its doing in front of the scene. I trust Russia more than China when it comes standing up to the U.S. We must also admit that The President of Iran should have stopped enriching 20% Uranium. This would have secured the complete trust of not the imperialist U.S/UK but Turkey which is worried of nuclear Iran. Iran must stop its quest of nuclear weapons.

Russia making correct moves..Its all part of diplomacy! Russia for sure dont trust Nato and for sure building new weapons in many fields-fast!What is hiden from public-I can imagine... After Georgia attack S.Osetia and Russian peacekepers(proxy war against Russia) Nato see that Russia will not tolerate them any more.Putin ultimatum said it all! Nato was forced to change tone(reset) but he did not change nature.Giving Nato no.1 place as enemy means a lot-it is a main point of everything in future from Russia point .... They can cooperate or not but one thing is sure-Russia is ready for cold or "hot" war with Nato at any moment. Russia was always and always will be ready to finish them many times over-no ABM or any other things will ever change that.Usa try to create market(make money from others and rob their own people as ussual)for their millitary complex with ABM but in reality it will never work! There is never to be sistem wich is able to shot 100% -insted of 10 nukes to fall on any sity 1-2 will also be enough...PR101-you are on target when you said what Russia doing in meantime and Russia (and other peaceful powers for multipolar world) will for sure become winer. To Luisa da Silva-dont worry..Russia is by prooven history facts only superpower-they beat The biggest, the most powerfull enemies ever on this planet.Foreign boot never conquer Russia-West wage 50 plus wars and lost ALL! So rest asure...It was never by accident!Russia and others Moral superpowers can offer world something what Nato can not-PEACE AND PROSPERITY....Thanke you.

Well, I don't know, but just a few days ago a VERY LARGE Russian transport plane landed at my local airport, in USA, to pick up some helicopters and transport "somewhere". No one would say where they were going. This plane was so large that you could hear it for 10 minutes after it took off.

Zak, Russia has number leaders with superior education and skills. Lavrov and Putin are my most favourite Russia’s top leaders. However, all the Russian politicians whose interviews I have able to read at this site come across as multilingual calm and clever. These qualities have worked for Russia to outsmart nations led by less educated leaders. Some people thought mistakenly that Russia had been outmarted in the PR wars during the Georgia attack of South Ossetia in 2008. I do not think this is true at all. I saw at this very site number of press briefings by the spokesman for the Russia’s Ministry of Defense and I find the guy is smarter and quick witted than the most savvy Western media spin doctors. Russia has this added quality of patience and smart thinking. There is nothing NATO- which does not represent the will of the people of the West but geopolitical objectives of the United States- can do to Russia. Russia needs to stay the course and stay calm and alert.

I believe NATO should be disbanned along with the U.N. it is nothing more than a large police force comprised of a lot of countries but led by a select few with their own aggenda. The U.S. and U.K. need to focus on their economies and forget the thoughts of running the world. Only reason I can see NATO wanting Russia to join is to get closer to their true aggenda of controling the oil and minerals Russia has. U.S. is looking for nothing but an excuse to attack Iran, this is for nothing more than their oil and minerals. Just as they did in Irac, Afghanistan, Pakistan. Why would we not hear a word about the nukes that are in Isreal? Is this not in the same region? I have found that our politicians can not be trusted as they continue to try and destroy our own constitution which they have sworn an oath to uphold. I can only hope in the Nov elections that we are able to turn the tide and bring the collapse of their so called new world order, and cut the strings of the off shore masters in their bank towers from our crooked puppet politicians.
