As Palin exits from Alaskan politics, are the Neocons dressing up their agenda in high-heels and lipstick, hoping the soft sell will give them the White House in 2012, or is the reason much simpler?

She'll be back and we'll be better for it. If all you have to reveal about her is that her Achilles heel is being "over" sensitive to her children, ah - we can live with that. She'll fiercly protrect America as she protects her kids.

The villain who fills this article's prescription best of all is the governor of Minnesota, Timothy J. Pawlenty, not Sarah Palin. Mr. Pawlenty took authoritarian control of his state by his manufacture of a budget deadlock by which he stripped schools, hospitals, and impoverished families of needed resources and left the Democratic Farmer-Labor Party shadow-boxing with itself. He also announced that he would not seek a third term. He thus will escape Minnesota voters' accountability for his misdeeds, like Governor Sarah Palin. Mr. Pawlenty draws support from veterans, a significant group who may have provided his narrow electoral edge in 2006 (21,000 votes). He has made four trips to visit Minnesota National Guard units. He made one trip in the spring of 2008 to a major defense conference in Germany. He followed the direction of then-VP Cheney in 2002, not to challenge the late Senator Paul Wellstone in 2002 but to run for Governor instead, to enable Norm Coleman to run for the Senate. He received much support for being a team player. He was on Sen. McCain's short list for running mate. He avoided electoral defeat and returned to Minnesota to wreak havoc on the state. The powerful players are grooming him for future endeavors. I see Sarah Palin and Mr. Pawlenty as two of the most prominent public officials being prepared for higher office. If one rises and the other sinks, there is little loss to the truly powerful. Plutocrats do not plant one seed and nurture it to full bloom as if nothing else existed. Like the story of Jason and the Argonauts, they sow dragon's teeth, in the hope that enough will grow up into soldiers and rend the flesh from their enemies' bones -- except that common humankind are the plutocrats' enemies.

If she is elected President and I was over there in Russia, I might want to find those old maps from the Cold War showing the location of all those bomb shelters that were built. And find deep tunnels, old abandoned mines, caves way out in Siberia, small remote villages, stuff like that. Just in case something goes wrong with our relationship. Just think, she might miss a shot at a moose, or lose a sled dog race, see Russia from Alaska, decide that we paid way too much for it, and get really pissed-off. Since I suspect that I am allergic to radioactive fallout, I might relocate to the Southern Hemisphere.

This article is spot on. The republicans are like a boat without a sail. I doubt that Palin will help them survive but it is an interesting theory.

This article has nothing to do with the Republicans being spot on or not. Palin was, typically, misquoted and misunderstood in this article. It is the norm to quote the person that you are slamming as you slam them. This article does not, and is not typical of the quality that I have grown accustomed to in Russia Today. This is not an article, but an editorial, and without any quoted basis. Russia Today should mark it as such and ostracize the author.

I totally disagree with the above comments. This article quotes Sarah Palin at length. Moreover, it even quotes the "Republican" press (The Wall Street Journal, for example). It sounds nothing like an editorial.

Mrs. Palin will be our next president! She will make history as the first American President. For some reason America is in the mode of wanting the first of everthing, the first black president, the first hispanic supreme court judge and probably the first women president will be next. This is not a bad thing because I think that she will be an amazing president if the flipping press would just leave her and her family alone.

Let's hope Palin goes away FOREVER. We don't need her going around telling lies the way she does. We had enough of that under G.W. Just because she "thinks" she's gorgeous doesn't mean she is and feels she can bring in all of the "males" to her side. They better look what's "inside" and ignore the "outside" for a change! That brain needs a lot of upgrading. I'd like to see her handle what's going on now in the Presidency. She would "QUIT" again!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just what you need in a time of crisis!!!

Sarah Palin was telling the truth about this sham of a health care bill by Obama and his cronies. It is there to read in black and white if you have time to dig it up out of their secret hiding places. The "clear and transparency " that they ran on to get elected has not been shown since he took office. Yes, I was sorry that Mrs Palin resigned because she was one heck of a Governor and we , the people of Alaska voted her in to be our Governor and she should have finished office in spite of all of the many many unwarranted and frivolous ethics complaints in which by the way all of them, every one of them were dropped. I hope and pray that Sarah Palin will not let the rabid left wing zealots scare her into staying out of politics. Really, we need her to run on an independent ticket called " The Constitutional Party of the People and uphold our constitutional rights of freedom of speech, our rights of American citizens that have never committed a f elony to keep and bear arms, our freedom to worship God and the freedom to remain a free nation . In this health care bill, ifi you are not say 15 to mid 40s you will get below standardhealth care if any at all. I believe that the politicians should have our health care option, which is no option at all and see if they wouldnt show up at a town hall meeting with just a few questions themselves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! May God bless America even though President Obama has told other countries leaders that America is no longer a Christian Nation. He is speaking for himself and a handful of minorities and he is awaking the sleeping giant in the Christians so that he will be able to see that America is still "Under God we trust"

It is not right and not fair for anyone to expressed all those bad and negative opinions about Palin. you either don't know what you were saying or don't know you were being used. you should check her records as governor of Alsaka. She had done more good for her state and its citizens in two short years than those before her in 30 years. Now, to save our country and put her back to the greatnes where she once was, we must put politic aside. come 2010 and 2012, elect those who has America at heart.

The Republican and Democratic parties have both become so phoney and underhanded that most of the people are starting to figure out the truth. Neither party really represents the majority of the people of America. They represent their own selfish interest. It is time for these two failed parties to step aside and let a new party come forth and represent the people, not the rich and selfish special interests. Remember the constitution? Politicians try to skirt it and push agenda that are contrary to this time tested American Constitution. Both of these failed parties only understand tax and swindle. They are very efficient when it comes to lining their own pockets. Conscience? What is that? RHETORIC IS THEIR GAME. Both parties should be awarded the nobel rhetoric prize.

Well one thing is for sure, from the sound of things there are alot of women out there that would give just about everything that they have got to be picked to be the running mate of a person that is running to be president of the good old USA.. even some men..... I really wonder how much Joe Biden had to pay Obama to get in that spot???? One thing is sure he did not get that spot because he is smart....Yes Denise Cordes she will be back, at least I sure hope so... If for nothing else just to piss them old biddys off.. Sarah Palin will get my vote if she does.. No I am not a Rep or Dem,,,, I am an Independent...But she will still get my vote...

As the saying now goes, "she didn't resign, she's just reloading"! You gotta give Sarah a lot of credit though for fighting back aganst the "LAME" stream media and all their hoaky lies and riduculous accusations with nothing to back it up. Whadda think Americans are stupid? Well half of them anyway. How obvious why they are doing this. They're afriad of her and what she stands for. She's your down-to-earth public servant that fought for and did alot for the great state of Alaska. There are facts to back that up. She wasn't worried about "the next election" and what she had to do to secure it. She has a great "track record", not just those famous 55 days in the senate that qualified as having enough experience to run for the highest office in this country. Those qualifications, 55 days in the Senate, of course, were excepted by that other half of the country that put him in office. Now while they are collecting their unemplyment and waiting for more free handouts, the whole economy of this once great country is collapsing in front of their blind eyes. And to all you women and feminists out there. Where have you been? I know. Your jealous. Sarah is strong, independent, pro-life, an athlete, a wife, a mother of 5 children, a sportswomen, deep-sea fisherwoman, snowmobiler, pretty, attractive, and, I know you don't want to hear this one, intelligent. Everything your not and wish you were. Shame on you. I'm sort of a feminist, I believe in more rights for women. We still are fighting for that and we will still be fighting. Why, because of the ignorant attitude of some brain-dead, blind-sided people in this country who believe a free hand-out is better then FREEDOM itself!

The bottom line is this: Sarah Palin quit after just a year and a half as Gov of Alaska. When her tenure as mayor of Wasilla was up, she left her hometown $20 million in debt. She also resigned from the Oil and Gas Commission without completing one term there. She is a quitter, and she is wreckless. She cannot express coherent thoughts, she doesn't even realize when she contradicts herself. All the tutoring and prepping by the neo-conservative handlers won't fool the majority of Americans. She is spectacle without substance.
