In South Florida, redemption is hard to come by for sex offenders. Some have been forced to live under a bridge for the rest of their lives.
Child abuse is a huge problem in the US. Those guilty have ruined a child's life forever. The problem is that they have done nothing to prevent child abuse. Immorality and child abuse go hand in hand.
Capital punishment or castration should be the only two options. I have no sympathy for sex offenders. I do not want to pay for sex offenders to be holed up in a Jail with my tax dollars and they don't belong anywhere near children.
THe number of offenses that fall under the sex offender label have increased from 11 to over 169 over the years. THose who are unaware, think that EVERYONE with the label has done something to a child. This is not true. With risk assessments there are better ways to really dsitinguish between those who are a danger. There is a recifivism rate of 3.5 % as opposed to over 70% recidivism for substance abuse, (who by the way can become cop killers so where are the laws for these people!!) etc. We can save millions by carefully monitoring those who really pose a threat and allowing all the remaining 97% to pay their price and have a chance to return to being a contrinbuting member of society. This opportunity is given to thoe who rob, who car jack and even to some who kill via DUI's etc. So why not do this for those who never touched another human being of any age. Get informed!
reba is an uninformed ignoramous. MOST SEX OFFENDERS ARE NOT DANGEROUS. According to Department of Justice LESS THAN FIVE PERCENT ARE DANGEOUS. The rest, are just people who did something stupid. NO, I am not talking about child abuse, that is the FIVE PERCENT. NINETY FIVE PERCENT of all sex offenders are not dangerous, and most have never even hurt anyone. This is so out of hand. This is like saying all baseball players chew tobacco, so they all deserve to lose their teeth.
If you or anyone you know has been harmed by these insane sex offender laws, come tell your story Citizens for Change, America http://www.cfcamerica.org

Valigator, You know for a fact that many victims of child sex abuse are in fact speaking and they are speaking AGAINST these laws. You show up where ever you can and post your troll lies. You live to hate. All one needs to do is Google 'Valigator.' Oh! What a web we weave when we set out to deceive.
My name is Fima. I am state contact for RSOL in Minnesota.(Reform sex offender laws ) Here is my blog http://estrinyefim.newsvine.com I came to US from former USSR 13 years ago with Jewish refugee status. My parents are Holocaust survivors. In USA I was convicted for porn possession and placed on s..x offender register. here are some comparissions http://estrinyefim.newsvine.com/_news/2009/12/17/3647883-sex-offenders-registry-some-comparissions- Some volunteers from RSOL are lobbying lawmakers to stop most terrible s..x offender bills. We just hold the line. There are huge hysteria. Nobody is care. There is danger of catastrophic events if lawmakers will continue to pass new and new stupid bills: today 2000 feet law, tomorrow 1 mile law and so on. Minnesota never had residency restrictions law and public Internet registry for s..x offenders. Only 300 people currently posted on the Internet. This is bad too, but 19,000 s..x offenders are not posted. Adam Walsh act was not considered. In 2008, 2009 and this year my group stopped some s..x offenders bills: E-mail internet registry, residency restrictions proposal, No network for predators bill, green lisence plates for s..x offenders proposal, DNA collection bill. For example I went to 'No network for predators' hearing in 2009, I told lawmakers that any s..x offenders law is bad, because they created group of pariahs and now trying to attach some laws to this group. Bill was killed. It took 2 month to do this, just for one bill I do not know what can happen next year, may be Minnesota may get worst s..x offender laws. I do not have resources to fight many new bills, and we do not have enough people. Adam Walsh act demands to put all s..x offenders on the Internet. For Minnesota this mean destabilization, firing, evictions for many families. No country in the world have Megan Law. May be you can answer why. Fima
In San Diego, there are about 15 sex offenders that are watched closely, but there are about 7000 registered sex offenders in the county, all of whom are required to register yearly and live at certain distances from schools. All are not allowed to go to the zoo or sea world or to the parks, yet the majority are not child molesters and may have erred many years ago, going to nude beaches or wearing too short of shorts., as an example. It matters not that they may be victims themselves due to the laws that govern them, or that they have not offended for more then 20 years. All that matters is that the government can control and harass citizens while illegal aliens go free. Barney Frank can stay in power but the average citizen who does not follow the Barney Frank style is condemned for life.
I totally agree with you on all points. This is so wrong. To many of these young "adults" are labeled a "sex offender" for their stupidity, immaturity, and irresponsibility. But then again 20 years ago all of this was alright to do and no one questioned you when you gave a kid a cookie, or urinated behind a tree, a 19 year old had sex with an 18 year old and nothing thought anything about it. It is sad to see my generation making laws that give a false sense of security on the public. And my generation was the ones doing the very same thing they are calling criminal now and making you register as a "sex offender". We should start questioning them if they ever did anything like this and lets put them on the registry.
Hey, that's poerwful. Thanks for the news.

So is RT going to obsess like Americans about sex and sex offenders. Do they even know that sex offenders can be someone who peed in a back street alley after leaving the bar???? There was a overweight man walking without a shirt that was also being placed on it. Then computer chatters make up a bulk of them. THESE ARE NOT PREDATORS!! Most haven't even hurt ANYONE!!! They shouldn't be under a bridge in the first place, but America loves to label and cast out people in society. A person who is pyschologically, sexually, and emotionally attracted to a child is almost almost always a labled a Predator on America's list. These guys don't deserve redemption. The rest on that list shouldn't even be there. People are so busy with this nonsense labeling people, making drunks have yellow plates, gps tags, and other various tools. TV watching, consuming, and all this low value, low morals with only ME in the center. Where is society now? How many neighborhoods are active and neighborly? Corporations have managed to destroy society with Sex Offender stories, New Goodies, and Video Games. Now you only have to live for yourself while big government raises you. Thank You RT for picking up with this trend.
