A good black man is hard to find

Thirty-four-year-old Kandy Phillips knows what she wants in a relationship, but she’s still missing a key ingredient – a good man.
“I don’t have diseases,” Phillips said. “I don’t have an attitude problem, I don’t like to fight.”
What Phillips does have is her own house and a good job.
Shavon Conyers, 28, is in the same boat – with a full time job as a mental health counselor. In her spare time, she is working on her master’s degree.
“A lot of guys – they’re just not on my level,” Conyers said. “We don’t share the same interests, or they’re weird."
Both Conyers and Phillips say they’re open-minded. However , the men they’re looking for have one important trait: They have to be black.
Conyers said she would consider dating outside her race, but her family, particularly her grandmother would “hit the floor” if she brought a man home who wasn't black.
Phillips and Conyers aren’t unique. In America, more than 44 percent of black women have never been married. That’s compared to 32 percent of Hispanic women and 23 percent of white women, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
Black men also make up a high percentage of the prison population, and are much more willing to date outside their race.
Many estimate that about 80 percent of black-white mixed race couples are made up of a black man and a white woman. Until some of these things change, the search for love, particularly for black women, will remain a difficult one.

Does anyone else but me find it grossly ironic that a russian female news would be reporting about black american women having trouble finding love within their own ethnic group? Isn't russia the centre of the female mail order bride/sex trade? Aren't russia women the ones who marry american men and other westerners because there is a lack of eligible russian men to marry due to world wars, communism, jail, alcoholism and suicide? I just find it weird that they would choose to talk about black woman. I mean wouldn't a more interesting story from a white perspective be why is it that 80% of interracial marriages involve a white women and a black man? I mean think about it, if white american men are suppose to be or portrayed as richer, smarter, faster, funnier, better looking, and the pinnacle of good looks and maleness, then why are white women eating up chocolate? What is it in the white americans community that has their rich white beautiful women chasing down these evil criminal bound black men with debil horns? That would be an interesting story to me.
Plus everyone knows black women are not attracted to white men in general.
Now as for rich black men marrying white women. I am of the opinion that open minded people marry people they are around because thats who you date. With the exception of music, most highly succesful black men will never be around black woman unless they go specifically search that out. Look at tiger woods, how many black woman do you see in golf. Or look at a cheerleading squad in nba, almost all white even in cities with black majority.
There are also other factors, maybe black guys do not get tricked into marriage like white guys do or maybe blacks are less likely to marry when unsure.
The stats are misleading in this article. Black men marry women who are not Black at a higher rate and this occurs mostly in the well educated group (Baston, Quian and Lichter). Once the Black man reaches a certain level of educational achievement, he becomes more attractive in the mating market place and Black women are thrown into a fierce competition with women from other groups. Black men do not date outside the race more than Black women, however. Other groups, especially whites, do not view Black women as a viable option for marriage. A partial solution is to reverse the trend of low achievement among Black men, but that will not remove the competition for the educated men. Black women will have to be more competitive in the market place, and that mostly involves a change of attitude.
If I want love I will look to my own kind why would I go looking for a 'good black man' can't the world do without integrating with them on such a level? The western media has forced them onto us whether we like it or not and now they are trying to force to the far east into accepting them why should they? Everyone knows what they are like, even if you have any 'good ones' they don't stand up against their own kind for bad behaviour or mouthing off racism at every angle.
