Why is it that Russia Or The United States Or The UK think so highly of themselves that they should be "the one" that African countries should turn to? African countries and more specifically African citizens have to look inward to themselves to find the one they should turn too. Russia is a member of the UN security council that vicious apparatus designed to benefit only itself at the expense of so many around the world. Let's not forget the Russian arms and military equipment used against civilian populations. I am sure many Africans will not forget.

The fact that Russia isn't anywhere near as aggressive as the West should be an indicator to you. Certainly everyone should have as much economic independence as possible but there's nothing wrong with foreign investment, so long as the nation receivnig the investment retains its economic independence. That is the distinction between Russia and the West: you do not get absorbed by the Russian economy when it invests in you. What about Russian designed weapons that are also copied illegally? Is there a reason why you're blaming Russia for the way that the weapons it has sold legitimately to world governments are being used? Why should Russia have to be forgiven? Even without guns, other weapons would still be used. Or did you forget that the Mongols killed tens of millions with swords and arrows?

Truth, There are many African countries. Morocco and South Africa try to rule over other African countries more than Russia now. Not to talk about France in Central Africa, the UK in Zimbawe and Uganda. So there are many players trying to have influence in different parts of Africa and over different countries. Not just from the rest of the World but also from Africa itself. And being an African country doesn´t mean that they are going to rule other African countries better. Just look at Western Sahara.
