"Tax the Rich" makes a comeback

Britain has chosen Lenin's birthday to bring back taxes on the rich. Governments from the UK and Europe to the US have been busy bailing out wealthy financiers. Now they are facing tough social and political choices.
The (real) "rich" shouldn't pay taxes at all, because they own us.

It is sad to see that people believe "rich" people should bear the load of society. This is a system that is not sustainable. If I am punished for working hard and achieving wealth, then I will not work hard and achieve wealth. If I am incentivized to work as little as possible, then I will work as little as possible. I thought the idea of socialism (which is just watered down communism) was to treat everyone as equals in society. If that is the case, how can you support treating some members of society unequally with a higher tax burden. The "rich" people should be taxed at the same rate as everyone else and that should be the SMALLEST rate possible. In this article, the writer glossed over the fact that governments can CUT SPENDING! Is that not what we all do in our own lives? Do we not reduce our own budgets in tough times? Why must our governments tell us that we need to be more fiscally responsible when they will not do the same? Why must our governments continue to spend when the treasury is dry? Get government out of our lives, not the FREE market!
