America’s Tea Party movement has evolved into a nightmare for the movement’s founder. The movement used to be about corruption and government spending, but now it is about "guns, gays and God".

This guy wasn't the founder of anything! Ron Paul did begin it. The Tea Party movement is taking back control and informing our representatives that they work for us. It consists on many people with many different beliefs. This guy is just whinning because he's not getting the glory. . . what a moron!

Denninger is right about one thing though - the Tea Party movement got taken over by the Republican National Committee. Now many people think it is just a fan club for Sarah Palin.

Maybe you previous posters need to read up on your history of the Tea Party Movement. As stated below, he is indeed one of the first founders of the movement. I personally remember the event which began the movement. If you search further you will find he is indeed justified in feeling the original goals of the Movement have been hijacked. How better to prevent a movement against big than to hijack it. If you read carefully on your link to nhteaparty, it was one of the first "statewide" movements. Go do your homework. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tea_Party_protests "February 1, 2009 tea bag campaign :"The founder of market-ticker.org, Karl Denninger (stock trader and former CEO),[37] published his own write-up on the proposed protest, titled "Tea Party February 1st?," which was posted in direct response to President Obama's inauguration occurring on the same day, and railed against the bailouts, the US national debt and "the fraud and abuse in our banking and financial system" which included the predatory lending practices currently at the center of the home mortgage foreclosure crisis.[38] Karl Denninger, who helped form FedUpUSA in the wake of the March 2008 Federal Reserve bail out of Bear Sterns, had been a guest on both Glenn Beck and CNBC Reports.[39][40] By February 1, the idea had spread among conservative and libertarian-oriented blogs, forums, websites and through a viral email campaign.[41]"

The Tea Party Patriots have saved the Republican Party. Peggy Noonan article in Wall Street Journal explains it best (below). http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702304023804575566503565327356.html

I do not consider myself to be a "liberal" or a "conservative." I consider my an independent voter and a liberty-loving one at that. I haven't joined the TEA Party yet and I don't know if I will. Right now I'm not a member of any political party and I think I'll remain that way for a while. As far as I'm concerned I don't need to be affiliated with any political party to make my views known. That way I can think outside the box politically instead of having to go along with the "party line." As far as I'm concerned the economy is still the no. 1 issue with me and the two major parties are still to afraid to address what's really wrong. Neither party wants to take on Wall Street and the Federal Reserve. Here are a couple of websites that I'm a member at: the Campaign for Liberty and DownsizeDC.org.

Well, I didn't know we had a founder???  We don't and who ever says we do or says they founded it are lying.  That just proves you don't even know what it is, it's just the "people", Americans that are tired of the games and lies and are finally standing up and being heard.  The silent majority isn't silent anymore, we voted in more ethnic and more women  then ever before so the Klu Klux Klan crap is so wrong and disgusting.  What I do know is more and more articles like this and the attacks will get worse but we will succeed in the fight for freedom and the truth.
