Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili has been pushing for arms from the US to head off an alleged Russian invasion. Jonathan Steele, a columnist from The Guardian in London, argues that Russia has no reason to invade.
-To maintain the cohision in a group of people, or countries you need to define a common enemy. - In this aim, Saakashvili plays a key role. - The policy of Russia is to counter act this aim, by colaborating in Afganistan f.e. and promoting friendship and good communication.
In my opinion, Saakashvili's rantings are absurd, he needs reeducation, he is devoid of any realism of this present world we live in.
Russia never was an aggressor, never for the history, I tell it as the historian. Then what speech about intrusion of Russia into Georgia can go?!

I agree with him this time. Russia doesn't need the headache. It made me laugh briefly during last year's conflict when the invading Russian army carefully went AROUND the Georgian capital. The Russians were after the military hardware the USA had just installed, not those squabbling politicians in Tbilisi. Bleah.
