Israel cries foul as Palestine says it will make a formal request to the UN Security Council for the recognition of its independence.
Of course not! UN is a tool of USA and Israel. They wouldn't do such a thing.
ergatis: its funny you say that because the blind conservatives in my country see the UN as some liberal socialist organization. You both seem very biased and unaware.
Israel has been able to violate UN Resolutions and International Law simply because the US has always given Israel UNCONDITIONAL support including the most sophisticated weapons in the world. However, with the economic DECLINE of the US (along with its international influence) the rest of the world seems to be getting more assertive in holding the "US-Israel Empire" accountable for War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity. Within a decade or so the US-Israel Empire will no longer be a dominant world power and it with be up to the rest of the world to show some "REAL" political and moral leadership. I can only hope that countries like Russia, China, The EU, and India are up to the task.

In the Israel-Palestinian conflict, Israel holds the key to peace. Therefore, the RESPONSIBILITY for not achieving peace. Does Israel not think, that the only friend she has in the world is the American government, yet not the American people. How long can Israel, a settler country, persecute the indigenous people of the land and claim invulnerability? 1. Israel is the only country that has stolen another people's land beginning in the 20th century and continuing through the 21st century. 2. The longest occupying power in the world. 3. A occupying power that seems not to recognize any limits to its greed. 4. Never before have we seen such leaders as Israels who are consummate liars since the inception of their country. The list can go on and on. Buy there is no need to repeat facts of which the whole world is acutely aware of. Only Israelis think that they can fool the people of the world by their incessant lies that they are victims and not the oppressors. They seem to believe Golda Meir's famous lie about "a land without people." It is in Israel's interest to be eternally grateful for what the Arabs give them, and not the other way around. Israel has placed itself in an impasse by pursuing an oppressive, inhuman and criminal policy toward the real owners of the land. The unyielding policy of permanent expansion in which Israel has trapped itself leads nowhere but to final extinction.
