The US could deliver a strike on Iran, Russia’s military command said on Wednesday, adding that it will be devastating for the whole world.
When shall we stop US one time for all. Is it time to go to war against US before its to lait for the rest of the world. Ho will they attack next time?? RUSSIA. Dont trust the US in what they say and do.
US and NATO can attack Iran only if they can come out of the Iraq and Afganistan wars. US and NATO forces are very down in both wars so, more likely is that USA will support Israel striking Iran but not before USA and NATO have withdrawn their troops from Iraq, Afganistan and Pakistan. Otherwise Iran could attack on US and NATO troops in those countries and as we have seen, US and NATO troops cannot fight in modern wars so, Iran troops together with shiia fighters and muslim fighters would defeat US and NATO troops.
After watching the comment by Russia’s General Staff General Nikolay, it is made clear that Russia prefers in casting its future security under the American dominance than dealing with nuclear Iran. No matter how they are in the art of chess, it is clear that Russia fears more nuclear Iran as a regional competitor than U.S global dominance. The U.S knows this and increased the pressure on Russia by surrounding Russia with anti-Russian states and with U.S missile Shields. The Russian are now capitulating. How sad.
The terroirst and insane america has become a rogue country, threatening democracies, peace and the lives of the poeple acorss the globe, who is usa to dictate the terms
I just hope that they start the war while i'm still young ... can't wait forever you know ...
“The US is...” Makarov said. I don't think anyone is talking about occupying Iran. What is being discussed as a possibility is a bombing campaign, with some commando-type raids, meant to cripple Iran's nuclear infrastructure, its ability to effectively retaliate to such an attack, and possibly its economy. Bush didn't want to do this; Obama doesn't want to do this; but there are an increasing number of people in the US who are thinking this should be done as a result of diplomacy and sanctions having supposedly failed (though actually you could argue diplomacy and sanctions, and apparent sabotage, have significantly slowed down Iran's progress). Unless Israel does something unilaterally, and last I heard they lack the equipment needed to take out the underground facilities, I think it unlikely anything will come of this until the US has a new president. What would be the consequences of an attack? Lots of people would die, oil supplies would be disrupted, Iran would be crippled, and Iran would try to attack US garrisons and US backed governments in the region. It is difficult to predict the extent to which these things would occur and what sort of dominoes they would topple. Would for instance Iran's civilian populace be hurt as badly as Lebanon's was in 06? To what extent would regional oil supplies be disrupted? Would Iran's counterattacks lead to a war in any way equivalent to the Iran-Iraq in its death toll? The worst case scenarios are unacceptable. On the other hand, the consequences could be a lot more mild. Iran's counter-attack would rely on a conventional military that by many standards is quite primitive. Although the US finds occupations very challenging, it has a pretty good record when it comes to winning battles because training and equipment are almost always heavily in its favor. Any offensive attempts by Iran might be met with a swift bloody nose sending Iran back home. Hopefully it won't come to any of this.
Have US won a war the last 50 year. As far as I now they lost evry war they start. Russia should deliver the S300 system to Iran as soon as possibel so Iran can defend themself against US airstrike. What will happend if Russia backing down to pressure from US and support new sanction agains Iran. Russia will lose face in the rest of the world and its China ho will benefit from that. country wich have been friendly to Russia for the last 10 year will turn to China to bying fake/copy weapon original made in Russia. Russia will lose many friends. Can Russia live with that???? Look what US doing in east of Europe. Putting up millitary bases and shield to shout done Russian misile. Look at Ukraine and Rose revolution 5 year ago. western power was standing behind that one. Look at Georgia and despoten Sakasvilly. Look at Baltic States. Look at Romania and Bulgaria new millitary bases. Look what they did in Kosovo. It is time to wake up Medvedev, Putin and Russia. Understand that US/Nato will put a knife in your back. Give them message to back down. China is sitting on the sideline and just watching whats happend. Will China soon use there strengt to take some Russian land in far east!! They are making new map were part of Russia is integreatet in to China. WAKE UP RUSSIA
Today's Russian leaders should recall a valid insight of Marxism: capitalism survives on a permanent war economy. This was as true of soviet state-capitalism as of U.S.-led entrepreneurial capitalism. Right now - with at least two major wars and other unreported conflicts, the whole economic system hovers on the brink of collapse. Logically, more wars are essential for its survival. Russia no longer has the military power to confront U.S. aggression. It made fatal diplomatic mistakes in trusting the U.S. during the 1990s, hoping for a relationship based on equality. And Russia was betrayed, as Germany was betrayed, by the fragmentation of its territories: in 1919, Germany suffered the loss of its European and African territories; post 1991, Russia lost is European and Central Asian territories. The U.S. does not recognize any power as an equal. THIS is the basic operative premise which every negotiator must keep firmly in mind. The U,S. sees the other party's concessions as American victory. One of Stalin's mistakes was to give back Austria to the West in an effort to avert the developing Cold War. It didn't work - and present-day compromises with the U.S., U.K. and Israel are unlikely to lessen the threats to Russia's borders. The speed of the U.S. take-over of former Russian territories and the U.S. organization of countries into an aggressive federation dedicated ultimately to destroying China, is astonishing. Today's economies, like electronics, demand instantaneity. The end-game is now.
Riga, Has the US won a war? I think ripping a country's evil dictator "Saddam" from his country and hanging him from a rope in a matter of weeks constitutes winning a war. I think bombing the Serbs and capturing a genocidal mad man like Melosevic is winning a war. The only problem is that we Americans are fighting wars for primitive poeple around the world who would probably be better off if we just let them kill eachother off. But our country has become so worried about "humanity" and "freedom" that they have lost their way and taking care of their own, the "American People"
Oh no, I hope we are not going to go in undermanned! Btw, the US people are not getting this message. If there is going to be an attack on Iran, it will be a sneak attack. Personally, if it does happen, I would prefer lots of help from Russia, or better yet, Russia can do it and we will help. China just 'sits on butt' so not even going to look there for help. Most US people I know are perfectly happy with somebody else policing the world for a while. It get old and expensive! Oh, and for the record, Russia, China, US, EU, Australia, are all decent countries and can be trusted (for the most part),, Iran is NOT one of these countries! So yea, somebody from the above list needs to roll on in there and rejigger that mess. Could care less who, anybody? Oh, one more thing, any people from any country (*cough* middle east *cough*) that treat their females as second class citizens need some rejiggering. Maybe one of the big boys needs to step in a clean up your mess too? You think we are the backwards rouge states? Pfft, mirror time! Personally I say give all of the middle east to Russia and China, oil and all. I don't mind buying it from you guys. I do mind buying it from a bunch of misogynists!
“The decision that Iran must stop uranium enrichment is inherent in the resolutions of the UN Security Council,” a quote from Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. On Tuesday, Kremlin spokeswoman Natalya Timakova said the "international community" must be certain Iran's nuclear program is peaceful. She added that if such obligations are not fulfilled, no one can rule out the use of sanctions against Iran. What will the "international community" do if the sanctions against Iran does not work?
Russia currently has a very astute leadership so you can count on them not doing anything stupid. If there is a real threat of Iran getting/making nukes this will not please Russia's leadership. Many countries bordering Russia already have atomic bombs and a means to deliver them. I know this must keep the Russian Generals apprehensive. Russia will be doing what is in their best interest, not what Iran, Israel or the United States thinks is for them. Russia could prevent a war from occuring by bluntly telling Iran that Russia will not tolerate another nuclear armed country on their border. Iran will take Russia seriously if P. M. Putin tells them it is his concern because he has credibility.
alex, That a waisted youth.
The US is going to hit hard, fast and soon. I can see it being quite successful if it is timed in conjunction with strikes other strongholds of Iranian support, such as an all-out simultaneous Israeli strike in Gaza, and NATO ones in Afghanistan, etc.. Despite all of it's bold talk, Iran will not be able to stand up to a major US-led attack. In a purely regional conflict, it would do quite well, but face it, the US will be able to bring many of it's neighbors on board.
Once they're successful, they'll expand like everyone else to save the world and themselves.
Not Iran is the problem, the problem is the crisis - USA made crisis - in the holle world and in the USA. Now is time to topple the crisis with one big and best manipulation to avoid responsability for this crisis: make wars and all problems will be solved! Of course the population is to big, must be reduced at least with 50%. Now is the moment ! China wil prevail and maby Russia wil ben no more ! Russia is doomd ! And sold to USA and cleptocracy interests ! Good luck! I've began to make some proviant !
juneau The predicament Russia faces is real but can Russia ensure Iran’s security? Can Russia reason with Washington to end its endless threats against Iran? Economic embargo is a war by other means. The aim of the Washington is that of “regime change” and Full Spectrum Dominance. Since Russia little leverage over Israel and the United States, the only choice Russia has is to put more pressure on Iran. This is fine but will this satisfy the United States? I think not because the real aim of the United States is that of “regime change” and not the prevention of nuclear proliferation. Good luck to Putin and Russia’s leadership and to thank you RT for censoring my comments- you are doing me great favour!
'Agree with EE the troops from US and Nato are not capable to fight the modern wars of today you can see how is Iraq today, you don't see it on the western news but the information is coming out from another sources another journalist who are inside Iraq and the confrontation continues in Iraq no matter what CNN ,BBC can tell you ,the war continues in Iraq and Afghanistan is getting worse each day , I think a war with Iran as the Russian General said it will be a disastrous situation for the hold world I can't imagine the consequences for that big mistake I hope Russia can prevent this for happening I wish the best to all humanity and I think the USA is lost in there mind and their ambitions to conquer the world with wars it seems this is the only language they understand. They don't measure the magnitude for such decision and is shame to have this kind of liders in the USA this shows how Obama is so in-mature that is putting the hold world at risk and his own county.
The Iranians are greatly underestimated in the West. This is mostly the result of a general ignorance coupled to media miss-information (often deliberate). For the last few decades the Iranian leadership (and by default the Iranian people) have been vilified, particularly by the US, Israel, and the UK. This is an age old tactic to get the 'masses' (these days the voter / taxpayer) to support a war against an evil / aggressive / threatening / backward / politically dubious enemy. By dehumanizing or at least vilifying your enemy it makes it much easier to kill them in large numbers. History has many, many examples of this. A strong, technologically advanced Iran does not fit the new world order. This in its self would be an issue, however it is because it is in the 'wrong' region of the world that is the main problem. The middle east is 'owned' by the US and Iran occupies an amazingly strategic position. Iran is also the only country that is currently willing to question Israels illegal actions in the region. To make matters still worse Iran also supports political parties the US and Israel regard as terrorists. The influence both the US and Israel have over other governments means that Iran has very few friends indeed. This will make it much easier for the US and Israel to influence world opinion against Iran. The US has shown that it is very good at destroying countries with its military machine, but it has also shown that it pays scant regard to the lives of 'non Americans'. The Iranians will not be able to meet the US on the battlefield or in the air on a like-to-like basis. They know this and it is unlikely they will try. The US should not however think they would get away with any attack.

Obama and the Pentagon generals sure are to start another war. When America starts the war with Iran, then she will come to the Russian Federation and NATO nations begging for troops - just like in Afghanistan. If Obama, the Nobel Peace Prize recipient, wants to start his own war like Bush, then all I can say is "go for it". I just need Obama to give me enough time to hide some place.
