Like William Potter, I am a former health employee of a major health care provider. Citizens are uneducated and do not know what they are doing. Brokers and Carriers are absolutely, lobbying against health care reform and sending this message in every monthly meeting, which I am not a part of now, because of the layoff. However, that is not why I'm disgruntled. I do not want to work for the health care industry in that capacity, for the same reasons William Potter stated. The health insurance industry is about greed, especially when it comes to the Small Employer (1-50) with some carriers, actually reckless to be frank. However, if we don't have a public option to put these carriers in line, the cost are going to continue to rise beyond belief. rs are having meetings with Senators to make sure this bill doesn't pass, if not weekly, monthly, I know, I was there to make sure this bill doesn't pass. It's less money for them and a new way of doing business. For them the higher the premium, the more money they get paid! They love the higher rates applied to a group that has health issues, because they get paid more and simply tells the employer, you have health issues. Brokers with integrity, will explain to the employer how to bring their cost down (i.e. wellness programs), however, this opportunity is not afforded to the small business employer (1-50 employees) and their health cost continue to rise. It's a shame and the bill should not be passed as written! This is truly a political move on the part of the Senators representing those states, which are just uneducated and stupid as to the real issue behind health care.
