I stopped to read US media about a year ago!!!

Thats because it is government propaganda which essentially is part of psch-op division of the intelligence community not just in the US but in Europe and US Vassel states in the Mid East. It's not the sustance its the reporting on major news items Iraq and the Georgia conflict being the best examples.

The American government and corporations are on the rise to stupefy the American people. This has trickled down so bad that the dynamics of the mainstreams media has permeated to areas of academics like our publics schools. Now, instead of having students fully focused on the subject matter, they're more concern in living life in schools like the musicals, 90210, iCarly and all these other stupid shows that only accomplish to distract children and families from gaining true knowledge about their world. But the true culprit behind all this I think is the FCC...think about it, why would any government be vested so much in controlling the airwaves? I doubt it because they're concern with celebrities popping their breast out--the reason is because true journalism and fair reporting about truly important issues in the world, can change the way you and I think in a matter of minutes...and that scares the s*** out of any government.

Journalism is far from dead in the United States. Indeed its more alive their then anywhere in Russia or China with their government run firewalls and meddling, and reporters dieing right and left under strange conditions. What has happened to American Journalism is that its in the process of changing. This change does come with great risk. Investigative journalism in is very weak in every country because of the transition to web based journalism. Journalism must be efficient to survive but investigative journalism is by its very nature inefficient because may stories become "dry holes" that turn out to be nothing. Fortunately the Web is allowing those with inside information ways of leaking that info without ever revealing their identities. Even if a government suppresses the original source of the info it will be commented upon in major articles all over the web, twitter, facebook and other sources. Your report affirmed what I and many other American news consumers have been concluding for the last 10 years. Much of U.S. news media has been dumbed-down to appeal to the inattentive and near illiterate. Most of my family, friends and professional associates now look to online and international news sources for real information and substantive news reportage — even about our own country. It is truly unfortunate what's happening to most U.S. print and broadcast news media. I even avoid their online versions which usually contain the same low quality news local, national and global coverage. However, they have been cutting their own throats for most of this decade — providing infotainment and hype, rather than real news to use. For better or worse, the Internet is making them irrelevant. The US media has been the source of lies since I remember, that is, from 1960s on. The body spreads nothing but toxicity in the form of outright lies, commission of spin and bias a well as omission of truth in every single report about any topic of interest to the people. Why does it do it? As the article says, VERY SIMPLE. The journalists cannot just tell the truth, because they are not free to report the truth as they find it. They serve the owners of the media and the ruling class of the government of the US, which are one and the same thing. Since the agedas of the US government cannot be exposed but need to be covered up, every journalist in the mainstream media must be an agent of the ruling class by necessity. It is a matter of survival. Those who serve the system well, are rewarded lavishly. Those who maintain their principles, chose unemployment of find a job in the much ignored alternative press working for a sustainable wage. They can never join the ranks of the opportunists who sell their soul for money and "fame." The reason why the media has almost hit the bottom is because their lies have become increasingly more difficult to hide. They have been exposed like never before and vast numbers of people have seen the ugly face of the establishment. There is no more hiding the truth. You believe the US press, you should expand your knowledge through the alternative press and pursue the truth relentlessly until you find the keys to open the door to lie factory that is the US media.

It is true I believe American Journalist have lost their minds. Not only are the reporting evening in a totally biased and one sided way but they are very disrespectful. Mr Obama instead of President Obama. He is Commander and chief to the military communities. As a soldier its not my job to question leadership, my job is the act upon the very commands of the Commander and chief. I am educated with a Masters Degree in Science in Management with concentration in Information System Security. I am smart enough to make up my own mind as to how I should feel about situations and where my loyalties are. So tired of News people being more like TV stars. I enjoy BLOOMBERG where they present the news and leave the people to decide what matters to them. If CNN and FOX NEWS went out of business it would not hurt my feelings at all.!
