“US values are under siege”

The United States is failing to take account of a changing world, says Walter Rogers, a former correspondent at CNN and a veteran of international reporting.
Most americans are like the english, poltically ignorant, very few are aware there is a world out there, geographically and historially, thier knowledge is limited, and relie on thier garbage broadcast media to feed them ignorance, americans are brought up with the idea nobody loves them ,and they dont love each other also.they education systems need restructuring.or more readly available to all its subjects, britain is no different ,they have an ignorant superority complex .
Hollywood values, which values? sex drugs and the dignity of life ,non exists, get educated ,it is crap ie hollywood, anyway it just panders to the moronic masses in the west,ie america and britain.ps it dose include the hollywood of the 40's50's and early sixties.then the garbage took over .its ignorance and obsessions of sexual liberations by the census regulators, bordering on perversions.
Many before have predicted the demise of the United States. It will certainly happen someday but these assertions of the current state are simply false. Granted we could certainly be more educated in the ways of the world but our ignorance is largely generational. The younger you are the greater awareness you have of the world, oddly enough. Our history since our first president has always been one of wanting to be insular. Just as our suspicious nature of government agencies. It's who we are. Our new president seems to understand that here is world out there to which we are responsible. He is certainly an excellent diplomat. So, get off of the anti-W bandwagon. He's yesterday's news. Our Democratic-Republic works. We finally have a new sheriff in town. One of the many things we do well is forget the past. Oh, yeah, sometimes that's our worst fault too. The point is we don't dwell on the past we move on. We are in a serious economic calamity. Yes, and this happens every generation or so. We always come out of it stronger and a bit smarter. Capitalism works. We will always be able to meet our military responsibilities. I live on that southern border of which is written and we will face the cartel war and win. The Afghan war was just. Iraq was not. Worst wars were fought for worst reasons. Does that justify or rationalize it? No, it merely gives some historical perspective. Torture is always wrong. The vast majority of Americans feel that way. Obama didn't eliminate torture like he should have but we won't be using it anytime soon. In being a student of history for 46 years I can assure you all that we have had worse times and met much greater challenges in America than what we face today. Overall, Americans are good and just people. We need to fix some things, and we will fix most of it. Some things we won't. But I do know, we'll be fine.

US 'hollywood' values are not under siege, they have simply been routed. America today, does not have 'traditional' American values. It is as simple as that. The Bush era, transformed America into an openly aggressive regime, practicing war crimes, illegal invasions, torture and political imprisonment, to benefit ideological and commercial oil centric goals. This was compounded with an alliance of the willing of NATO and the EU, who were complicit and fully supporting all these activities. The net result, was that America educated and proliferated torture to all its allies, including the likes of the UAE. Torture became as American as apple pie. The world has changed, it is multipolar now. The Moscow Washington paradigm, is indeed a thing of the past. Moscow realised this, but Washington didn't. The result was, that whilst Russia was building friends, America was buiding enemies. America has only just awoken to the new realities in the world. So now they are trying to disengage from problems, and also play catch up politically in places like Latin America. The problem is that their enemies know they are on the rack politically, and after their past conduct, are quite happy to turn the screw a bit more. This does not mean America is weak militarily, and in this respect I disagree with parts of the interview. Have no doubts, America is a very capable military force, able to project power to any place on the globe. The problem is, that they don't know the limit of that power, they are only learning now that occupation, quite rightly, is a mugs game, because military technology means, occupation of any reasonable size country that is fully commited to resist is unfeasible. Now I have talked of 'Hollywood' values, and these are the ones America has always wanted to be pretending to adhere to, it is the PR face for the world, it likes to show and be associated with. However, the grim fact is, that the true values within the US administation, under any administration are those of torture, war crimes, illegal invasions and political imprisonment. The US has been doing these acts for years, Bush just made it more open, he was a Texan, shooting from the hip. Bush didn't drop two big thundering bombs, directly targeting civilians. He wasn't ordering combatants to be tied to rotar blades. He wasn't the one supplying arms to terrorists and engaing in drug dealing to undermine nation states. He wasn't the one with a direct program to de-stabilise arab states, He wasn't, but the US administartion was, and will always be. This fact the world can only forget at its peril. So remember, even if the Hollywood image comes back, it is only just that, a Hollywood image, so hang on to those nukes.
