Who stole the spotlight at UN?

Words are mightier than swords when it comes to some world leaders who spoke at the UN this week. The charisma of the political figures many love to hate is stealing the spotlight from their more diplomatic colleagues.

Vhen will Misters Medvedev and Lavrov admit than Obama, Clinton, Gates and Co. are not peace loving persons but just other pawns employed by their America's imperialist masters. We need concrete proofs of their good will, not just bla bla bla...So far, nothing positive has been done to relax tensions. Consequently, all main nations' 2010 military budgets have increased and US dirty tricks keep on going full speed on all continents. Please, wake-up and face the facts, even if you wish for them to be different. Sorry Future Generations. Sincerely. Jean-Claude Meslin

I believe it was Madeline Albright, former US Sec of State, who asked, during a white House cabinet meeting, "what good is our military might if we are unwilling to use it?". And, Madam Albright unleashed a barbarous 78-day bombardment of little defenseless Serbia, killing over 4,000 Serb men, women and children. There are some very blood thirsty individuals in the power chambers of the United States of America who really believe in the myth of "America The Beautiful" and consider themselves anointed by God to unleash death and destruction against any defenseless nation that does not do their bidding. Iran must secure nuclear weapons as soon as they can because history has shown that America has never attacked a nuclear armed nation - but, they are hellbent on attacking weak and defenseless nations. Venezuela is weak and defenseless in American eyes and thus a prime potential victim of American military might.

Meslin Russia cannot tell the Americans what to do but Russia's political leadership knows very clearly that Obama, Ms/Mr Clinton and the rest of the them are the servants of the American ruling elite. Also, it is pertinent to stress that the American people has not openly contested U.S global militarism. The Pentagom is convinced that it can wage wars in number of fronts and that it can regain lost dominance over Latin America and gain total control over Eurasia. Russia must stay claim for no public announcements are going to change anything. Russia must defend Russia-first and foremost and Venezuela and must be ready to defend itself. The American empire is committing all sorts of aggressions that it will self destruct itself. The aim is to take down the rest of the world with it and this is what the world must avoid.

Bad mouthing America continues to be the agenda of many badly informed peaceniks. If these people are ever on the receiving end of TERRORIST activity, America will probably be the first country they run to for help. The world is becoming more dangerous every day and there are not many who will stand upn against the thugs. If America were to stop pursueing these criminals, it would not be very long before you peacenik's would lose your freedom and the opportunity to be critical of everything. If you fly, you could have been on one of the airplanes the TERRORISTS chose to terrorize. Ask yourselves, would you stand up against terrorists if America stopped doing all the heavy lifting? Perhaps you should consider BAD MOUTHING the Terrorists.

“face the facts” Well, I am glad somebody here is better informed then the Russian President and its Prime minister about US and world affairs/events. No need to feel sorry for future generations as I am sure nobody can predict what the future holds and we do have a degree (if not total) control over our own destinations.

arbie The peace lovers are not misinformed- the greaest threat facing the world today is posed by the United States militarism and endless wars. The world fears the United States because the United States is making the world unafe for all peoples and nations including the American people.

Venezuela needs to pony-up some hardcore proof of U.S meddling. I already know that Chavez is telling the truth. The U.S tried a coup on Chavez in 2002. Here is the documentary as proof (it's free to watch online). http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5832390545689805144# And, here is the Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Revolution_Will_Not_Be_Televised_%28documentary%29 .

I have only two facts for you, Arbie: two millions of refuges and hundreds of thousands of dead in Iraq (let alone Afghanistan, Pakistan,.Serbia, etc) If you think that all of them were terrorists then you've been really brainwashed well. If you don't believe that then you probably consider them as justifiable "collateral damage" in which case you're just yet another amazing product of US propaganda machine with overblown superiority complex and lack of sensitivity to tremendous level of suffering that this country imposes on other nations. Unfortunately, defeat and humiliation is the only reliable way to get rid of that superiority complex and I think that you will experience both of them in your lifetime.

It is quite apparent that some of you have been smoking the peace pipe for too long to comprehend the threat to humanity that the TERRORISTS present. It is even questionable what kind of wacky tobacke you have been smoking. Therefore, it would be counterproductive to try to convince you of anything. NO WORRY, BE HAPPY.

Sarah I shall try to explain what I mean by telling the truth to the whole World, including to millions US citizen, victims of their own system. Lately, Peter Lavelle had a show called Armed to the Teeth. Two guess-experts told us: America, Russia, Great Britain, Germany and France make and sell over 90% of all conventional arms (America, alone = 30% of the market). You can notice that those merchandise are all white. If you add what is called: weapons of mass destruction, the 30% US made become 65%. America has been and still is the initiator and first producer of all WMDs actually disponible for mankind'self-destruction: 60 trillions $(60 followed by 12 zeros) have been wasted in 60 years (see how excited are the US generals with their new gadget: the drones). Most nations have even increased their 2010 defense budgets. I did not suggest for Mr Putin to be aggressive; just to take advantage of his notoriety and what he has proved at the helm of Russia, to simply make the Audit of mankind governance under American leadership and gently expose the facts. Naturally the US-NATO consortium will deny those evidences, because their economies are all militarily oriented and have so far, always won. This resulted in the making of huge fortunes and a sciemment well conceived climate of fear and insecurity. The master-minds behind that shame used exactly what they accused their adversaries (communist Soviet-Union) to do: a global, well orchestrated brainwashing. I sign most of my comments by a remark which do not seem to please certain. I simply use what the great US astronomer: Carl Sagan, used to say. Mankind, desperately needs to follow good examples; an opportunity which was given to the Western countries, after 1945. The greed, the cynicism and the hegemonic desires of a few thousands persons has ruined the whole process. Now, we must find a country and some decent leaders to fill the gap. Why not Russia !!! Sorry Future Generations. Best Regards. Jean-Claude Meslin

January 02, 2010, 22:59, arbie wrote > ... Ask yourselves, would you stand up against terrorists if America stopped doing all the heavy lifting? Perhaps you should consider BAD MOUTHING the Terrorists. Well, Arbie. I hope you know the ratio of deaths from terrorist attacks and the U.S. military operations (be it legal or - most typical - illegal). Just look at how we are now preparing for genocide (perhaps in the magnitude of Holocaust, it's been done before), justified be the nuclear material the Iranians have in their possession. First of all, Israel has an estimated - and publicly acknowledged - 400 thermo nuclear warheads. Israel, Pakistan, India and Korea aren't in the "Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT)". Israel, though a more powerful "threat" than Iran, is not on the verge of war with the U.S. What are the reasons behind this decision? The way the media works in NATO member countries is exactly as hysteric as the way it works in the U.S. A further step towards fully "brainwashing" the Western civilization is our newspapers, television stations, and most of the Internet (the news sites, government sites and some NGO sites). I see ridiculous amounts of energy wasted in solely pointless debates/TV shows. The fact that TV shows are more available in our newspapers than politics, bothers me relentlessly. It's important to understand that most of our older generations does not recognize the Internet as a credible source for information (which is enough for them not to question sources). This makes our public news agencies almost a "Great Wall of Media". As an example, I was buying my groceries the other day and saw the front page of a very popular newspaper in Denmark. It read (I've removed the exact titles, since it won't make sense to you): "Do you remember from ? He's dead now." This was during the earthquake in Haiti, which was very poorly covered!
