Washington is prepared to join forces with Russia to promote democracy, human rights and the rule of law worldwide, President Obama has said in an interview with Russia’s Novaya Gazeta newspaper on the eve of his visit.
The paper hits the news-stands on Monday as Obama arrives.
News agency Reuters has a sneak preview of the interview, quoting Obama as saying that all steps are part of the ‘reset’ process in renewing US-Russian relations.
Answering a question about the paper’s murdered journalist, Anna Politkovskaya, Obama said that corruption would never win.
However, he’s somewhat critical of the new prosecution of jailed former oil tycoon Mikhail Khodorkovsky. Obama said the Russian authorities “are putting old charges in a new package” for the second prosecution of the former head of the Yukos oil company.
Mikhail Khodorkovsky, who’s currently on trial, is already serving a jail sentence.

Before preaching to russians, Obama should learn what the word democracy mean. He should also ride the American Constitution and try to be the first US president to apply it (example: 1: All men are created equal. 2: Nobody is above the laws etc. etc. The time has come for someone to speak he simple truth and put the american decisions'makers in front of the facts. To promote the Barnum-Obama-Circus show, western medias will lie to their peoples and russian medias will certainly do the same. America has 700 military and spying installations all around the World (mostly around Russia) which must be vacated and a useless ABM shield to be scrapped (except over their own country, if they are stupid enough and want to waste more billons $)... By refering to the past 60 years; it is obvious that the USA must give proofs of their willingness to change their geopolitic attitudes and their priorities. So far they have done nothing and that new president is like his predecessors a globalisation's masters and Military Industrial Complex's pawn. Like for our Sarkonaparte, his election is becoming some kind of intellectual masturbation. Let us hope that Misters Putin and Medvedev will bring him back to simple realities for the sake of the whole Humanity...Sorry Future Generations ! Sincerely. Jean-Claude Meslin
President Obama puts himself on such a high pedestal and when he arrives in Russia he will be shocked with the cool reception he receives from a majority of the Russian public. He thinks so highly of himself that he believes everyone, everywhere is going to kneel at his feet (figuratively speaking). The Russian people know a Marxist as soon as they see his programs. This may be just what President Obama and Michelle need to bring them back to reality!

do the world a favor russia keep & hussein obama. america dont want it . please
