Everybody knows or should know that "communism" nearly destroyed Russia, but Zyuganov is CORRECT in everything he said. Here they run anti-Russian propaganda that borders on hate crime 24/7 and openly call for partition of Russia into smaller chunks which they can presumably control.

I am not a fan of Gennady Zyuganov and communism, but what he was quoted saying in this article is 100% true.

Unfortunately I have to say that all articles/propaganda in the West is always against Russia. Maybe you do not perceive it, but I have to agree with Zyuganov on this. For example read the Guardian about an article that in FORTE DEI MARMI they want to stop RUSSIANS to buy homes; not Americans or British. It is a non-stop media game that Russian officials seam not to see. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/jul/04/italian-resort-forte-dei-marmi-tourists (see article).

I think that Medvedev is doing a good job concerning the West. Nato is puchasing many Russian attack helicopters and training etc. It does seem strange to see Russia and the West moving closer politically and Medvedev is doing a great job. I live in Canada, and my country has made some very stupid gestures towards Russia. Medvedev however is a high class diplomat and appears to be a more intelligent and superior statesman. You should be proud of him. As for the USA, they have much to learn and it will take some time for the US to learn diplomacy on an international stage. Most Canadians do not trust the US and for good reason. There is however a huge trading relationship between the two countries, and at times our Canadian government trips over their two feet trying to please the Americans. Russia and Canada would benefit greatly as both countries are the largest in size, and both are are situated in a very strategic global position as well as economic.

For anyone interested, on Youtube there is a speech by Zyuganov about 10 mins long where he completely trashes Putin and his policies, so much that Putti-pu looked like a poor schoolboy who just got put in his place by an older and wiser teacher - which is not far from the truth. He is an old time idealist that still has some support, but he is up against opportunists who have only money and total control as their aim (and I am not speaking about the West).

While I agree with Zhuganov !00%, I wonder what is the quid pro quo for the Russian "concessions" to the Americans. As readers of US papers know very well, not a day passes by without more than a handful egregious reports on China and Russia. Putin haters abound in the United States for a reason. Remember, if the dollar did not enjoy the status of the international reserve currency, the United States would have been declared a failed state long ago. Meantime, Obama has not only adopted the Bush policies verbatim, he has expanded it throughout the Middle East all the way to the Chinese borders, creating a wedge between Russia and China. How long can the United States maintain this posture? Not very long. What has the United States gained from the adventurous onslaught on the world since the beginning of the 21st century? Systemic bankruptcy and continuous bleeding on all fronts. Another ten years of this mindless policy, and you can say bye-bye to the United States as a first class power. Do the Medvedev/Putin duo see this happening? I am sure they do. But they are playing chess on the global scale. Does Zhuganov understand this? Definitely. But he is playing his part of the game. After all, he is the opposition. But who can say who is more Russian between Putin and Zhuganov? I don't think anybody can. They are defending Russian interests to the best of their abilities in the current conjuncture of the international landscape.

Russia must be careful when doing anything with the US. Remember the 1990s? Remember August 2008? This is the same america, as it was back then, regardless of Mr. Obananahead. Zyuganov is correct in his assessments. Putin and Medvedev are behaving too recklessly.

@quote: "America’s membership in NATO is supposed to protect America, not make other states more secure by increasing the risk to Americans." =========================== This analyst must be aware of Polish refusal to discuss Sudetenland issue with Mr.Adolf. We know what the result was. That is why America will never allow Georgia or Ukraine membership in the Organization whose main objective is to bleed for North America.

Srbin, "This analyst must be aware of Polish refusal to discuss Sudetenland issue with Mr.Adolf. We know what the result was." What do you mean? "Sudetenland" - was the German name for the western regions of Czechoslovakia. ( nowadays Czech Rep.) After Munich Agreement Sudetenland was relegated to Germany. The Czech part of Czechoslovakia was subsequently invaded by Germany in March 1939 and Czechs surrendered without a fight ( only several hundred Czech troops fled to Poland;and during invasion of Poland (1.09.1939) they fought together with Poles against German and Russian troops.

Communists and Nazis both brought utter calamity upon Europe and committed mass crimes against humanity that will continue to shame and soil the pages of history for as long as history will last. Nazis are rightly banished from subsequent involvement in government. But Communists continue to be members of the Duma and continue to shake their fist there. I wonder how the world would feel, beginning with Russia, if honourable Nazi Party members of the Reichstag continued to shake their fist in speeches demanding that Germany “stop bowing down to the East.” Russia’s double standards are breathtaking.
