They should have let Eddy Snowden and the Carlyle Group handle the roll out... that's what the Republicans would have done.

The code-writer can't sue! In a totalitarian regime, ALL intellectual property belongs to the State, doesn't it?

Obam acare is NOT a "single payer healthcare." Medicare-for-all would be a single payer healthcare.

I KNOW. I'm saying this is what we have UNTIL we have single payer. SO LET'S FIND OUT IF THIS PROGRAM IS ANY GOOD SINCE PRACTICALLY VERY FEW PEOPLE UNDERSTAND HOW IT WORKS. But right wingers are using this as an excuse that "Socialized medicine" or single payer should be unattainable..

The code was released with a BSD 3-clause license
which means you can do anything you want with the code right down to changing the copyrights without attribution.
Lea rn your Open Source Licenses before you talk trash.

Theft is theft instead of being all rightfully owned by the United States Government. And this is just another example of power being centralized at all costs. With total destruction of all things just for more power.

Hope fully the case will not be inside of an American court room where the outcome will be decided on before the trial begins because of the status of show trial.

The Whitehouse is good as stealing other peoples ideas and using them for their own. It looks as if its finally catching up to them.

What is more revealing is how the right wing libertarian trash are trying to use this as an example to set up single payer healthcare for failure.

Obam acare is NOT a "single payer healthcare." Medicare-for-all would be a single payer healthcare. Obamacare's a sell-out to the insurance industry, and that's why it's such a mess, because it forces people to buy insurance, which means the compulsion has to be enforced -- and in Obamacare, that's done by IRS, which is going to be a bureaucratic nightmare a lot worse than this website mess.

This is not what the free and open source movement is about

th en they should have filed it under the GPLv3 and not the GPLv2. that was their choice. the GPLv2 has an exception:
" ;Exception: if the Program itself is interactive but does not normally print such an announcement, your work based on the Program is not required to print an announcement"

"According to Bier, the company could pursue legal action over the unauthorized use of its copyrighted web script. "

Acco rding to Bier? ACCORDING TO BIER? No, no, no... According to SOPA and PIPA, Obama's love-lost children of ill repute, the company CAN pursue legal action over the unauthorized use of its copyrighted web script. Even the DMCA has enough teeth for this to be made very uncomfortable for the Obum-bum administration.

It will be so much fun watching them squirm if this ever gets to court. I'll place odds that there is a higher likelihood of Bier being collateral damage in a drone strike first, however!

Fact #1: "The main “Obamacare” website has been marred with bugs and glitches since it went online over two weeks ago, and the problems are still piling up."

F act #2: "The cost of getting those sites up-and-running exceeded $500 million."

Fact #3: HHS is using open-source (FREE) code for the website.

Th is isn't adding up!

When you can't present facts, call names. When you can't produce, steal.

the open source movement shares .. we dont steal .. read the bloody GPL!!

This is insane. This is not what the free and open source movement is about . The main infringement, that of selling the code && || preventing the freedom of the code was not prevented. n00bs

Stop preteneding to be an expert on it when your not.

I never claimed such a thing. Such hostility is unwarranted and unappreciated, sir. I simply posted my opinion, that's all.

Don't chicken out and accept a settlemen. Make an example of these mofos, show them they're not above the law.

That's taxpayer money that would otherwise pay for someone's healthcare because some baby didn't get his way with some bs about crediting....big deal, they can fix that.

What is more revealing is how the right wing libertarian trash are trying to use this as an example to set up single payer healthcare for failure. The program just started, you have no idea what it's like. Stop preteneding to be an expert on it when your not.

Don't chicken out and accept a settlement, no matter how good the offer may be. Make an example of these mofos, show them they're not above the law.

Ahhh, good to see these jerkwads get caught once in a while. I'm sure the negative karma is starting to overflow and just get pushed to the front of the line, y'know?
