A congressman admitting to having erred. . . how often does that happen!!?

I wish it were due to his growing a conscience, yet I highly doubt that is the case. More likely he sees how angry the people are, which way the wind may blow, and is trying to maintain his position and career in fear he may be voted out of office.

]Reform is a nice thought, but they will never stop - it will jsut be driven further underground.

The USA is running the same playbook of every desperate, crumbling empire; debase the currency, ignore its own laws, and engage in endless wars.

As we say over here: "SSDD"

Plus remember when they made a big show of stopping congressional insider trading? What happened to that? (Nothing of course.) This will be the same.

You have to understand; things are the way they are because these a-holes WANT them that way.

And you and I don't matter them. At all

Well Said!

CORRECTION: Silver-spoon heir to the Kimberly-Clark (Kotex) family fortune Frank James/Fat Jim/F.J. Sensenbrenner, Jr. (born June 14, 1943) did NOT "author" the USA Patriot Act (107HR3162). The principal author was Viet D. Dinh (born February 22, 1968), and that is beyond debate. Still open to question, however, is just how much of the complex and complicated 64,158 word bill submitted to Congress barely 42 days after the 9/11 "terrorist" ; ; attacks by Fascist stooge Sensenbrenner was drafted BEFORE the alleged "terrorism" ; ; occurred.

It was likely all of it.

The government doesn't even follow the constitution, so why would they follow this bill? This is just a cover to make it look like they'll stop.

pudgey-face !

Notice how they may or may not put in some window dressing reforms as part of the fascist charade. But they shall never come clean about the crimes and criminal activities that have already occurred. In truth they are not going to stop going after people on the enemies lists of the Washington Regime and its secret police. Reforms are worthless and they won't abide by them anyway.

Max21c 11.10.2013 13:07

Reform won't work. It was tried in the 70's and the secret police and Washington Regime just ignored the law and continued doing whatever they wanted to do until the government changed hands and the CIA, FBI, other secret police agencies got things back to the way they wanted them per police state and absolute power back in the hands of the military secret police and CIA + FBI + NSA secret police.

As the Eagles said: "you can't hide those lying eyes"

not duped 11.10.2013 12:29

its gotten to the point that any statement made by the MSM or a government clown must be filtered through a lie detector for public consumption. Is this like obummer "aiming to shut Gitmo"?

Dave Stuart 11.10.2013 04:31

Greedy children will not give up their new toys with out a fight and then you can expect them to lie about it if they do.

Carlos Gomez 11.10.2013 04:09

Ok, reality people, (I know sometimes it just doesn't seem like a good place to go but....) ok, so this "fall guy" who comes out and like a christmas present to the world, declares, he is going to have nsa cut back its surveillance to "not bulk" stuff anymore. Matter of fact, since he wrote the Patriot Act up, he is going to introduce legislation to curb it! I don't mean to trivialize the crime by any means people but can anyone on earth believe a word this fool is trying to sell the world !!!!!! I started laughing so hard I almost fell off the chair! Hysterical Comedy - Capitol Hill

Lee Schuler 11.10.2013 03:41

obama will never allow new legislation that would limit his spying on Americans although he probably has enough dirt to last for a very long time.

RHUDINO 11.10.2013 00:33

The new definition of Section 215 would require the NSA to convince the courts established by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) a target was “an agent of a foreign power,” was “subject of an investigation” or was figured to be “in contact with an agent of a foreign power.” IS AIPAC AND ADL NOT IN THIS CATEGORY????
