During a live broadcast on Wednesday, RT America presenter Liz Wahl announced she was stepping down, citing her disagreements with the network’s editorial policy. RT issued a statement following her resignation.

Ms. Wahl's resignation comes on the heels of her colleague Abby Martin's recent comments in which she voiced her disagreement with certain policies of the Russian government and asserted her editorial independence. The difference is, Ms. Martin spoke in the context of her own talk show, to the viewers who have been tuning in for years to hear her opinions on current events – the opinions that most media did not care about until two days ago. For years, Ms. Martin has been speaking out against US military intervention, only to be ignored by the mainstream news outlets – but with that one comment, branded as an act of defiance, she became an overnight sensation. It is a tempting example to follow.

When a journalist disagrees with the editorial position of his or her organization, the usual course of action is to address those grievances with the editor, and, if they cannot be resolved, to quit like a professional. But when someone makes a big public show of a personal decision, it is nothing more than a self-promotional stunt.

We wish Liz the best of luck on her chosen path.

If I had a journalistic degree or some form of qualification in journalism I would join the RT team. They provide excellent reporting from many angles and regardless if these two reported who have resigned I feel that you have reported the Ukraine crisis better than any other need outlet that is out there to date.

I could not believe today when I read the UK papers this morning, I am not Russian or American but I believe far much more from RT than any other news channel. I have extensively watched reporting from BBC, CNN and RT and from what I have seen RT report what is seen, they have shown parts of this Ukrainian conflict that CNN and BBC have failed to show. Liz resigning was a huge stunt and like some other people said she has a history already from the soviet past with her family, so why did she join RT ??

When they make movies about journalists it is always about an "incorruptible& quot; journalist? That's because there are none.
The girl mentions her family emigrating from the Ukraine. Well "pogrom" is just as much a Ukrainian word as it is Russian. Are you sure darling that your family was not running away from the Ukrainian nationalists?
An d yes, annexing Crimea was wrong economically. Crimea is too expensive to run and has lost it's 19th century strategic importance. I wish Russian defence was looking forward, not back. Please read Leskov again.
