French billionaire Serge Dassault dies at 93
Serge Dassault, a French businessman with interests in aerospace, software and media, has died at the age of 93, his family has announced.
The deceased businessman headed Dassault Groupe, a France-based group of companies established in 1929 that he inherited from his father, Marcel Dassault. The conglomerate unites aerospace, software and media businesses that his family controls. Dassault, who had passed on the leadership of the company a few years ago, died in his Paris office at around 2pm GMT, a spokesman for the firm said.
Dassault Groupe produces one of the most recognized brand of business jets, Falcon and Rafale warplanes. Dassault and his family also own the country's oldest daily newspaper, Le Figaro. His net worth is $26.1 billion, according to Forbes.
