#OnTheRoofs: Russian daredevils climb world’s tallest skyscrapers, bridges (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

Climbing the tallest bridges and skyscrapers are tasks not for the faint of heart. But Russian daredevils addicted to extreme urban climbing have done just that, scaling most surfaces without safety equipment. The brave souls also hacked a billboard.

Self-styled ‘skywalker’ Vitaly Raskalov has managed to climb the roofs of many buildings across the globe, sometimes without proper authorization.

Hong Kong

During their last visit to Hong Kong, Raskalov and Co decided not only to take awesome pictures from the roofs of Hong Kong's skyscrapers, but also to shoot a video with the help of a small drone.

They also managed to climb the 200-meter tall China Online Center and left a message on one of its billboards, reading: “What’s up, Hong Kong?”

Tokyo

After the breathtaking action in Hong Kong, they were off to Tokyo and its stunning Shibuya Square, the city’s famous street crossing. In most cases, the daredevils' only weapons are GoPros and DSLR cameras.

Antwerp

They also managed to master the heights of Antwerp, one of the biggest cities in Belgium. They say the most difficult part of any climb is not the physical exertion or defying the fear of falling - it is actually avoiding getting caught.

Moscow

Earlier, the daredevils climbed a bridge in Moscow, taking in the spectacular view of the Russian capital without any safety equipment. Raskalov says their hardest feat so far took place in Moscow - scaling the spire on the main building of Moscow State University, which was extremely guarded.

St. Petersburg

Church of the Savior on Blood is one of the main sights of St. Petersburg, Russia. The adrenaline seekers climbed the building situated directly next to the landmark. At least they didn't have to wait 18 hours to get back down, as they were once forced to do in Shanghai.

Vladivostok

In Vladivostok, Russia, the daredevils climbed the city's Golden Bridge, which has a total length of 1.388 meters and a height 226 meters. Spectacular photos were taken from the top.

Rome

Piazza Venezia was captured by the extreme roof-climbers back in August. They took pictures from Altare della Patria, a monument built in honor of Victor Emmanuel, the first king of a unified Italy. Sometimes the unsanctioned trips backfire on security guards, after the owners of certain buildings learn of the security breach from the media.

Lvov

Raskalov's team was also seen in Lvov in western Ukraine. The city was nicknamed "Little Paris of Ukraine" due to its marvelous architecture. Raskalov actually hails from Ukraine and his father was also born in the country. However, Vitaly does not feel he belongs to Russia or Ukraine, as he revealed in an interview with TJournal magazine.

Paris

One more church, this time Paris’ historic Catholic cathedral - Notre Dame de Paris, one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture. Raskalov and Co aimed to conquer the 69-meter height, and they succeeded. For Russia, this is so far an iconic teams of roof-climbing daredevils. If asked why they do it, they will most probably answer "just because we can."
