Best of RT’s coverage on Russia’s air campaign against ISIS in Syria (VIDEOS)

RT’s extensive and in-depth coverage of Russia’s anti-terror operation in Syria has skyrocketed online – exclusive reports and raw video footage have been watched over 4 million times on RT’s main English-language YouTube channel alone.

The air-to-surface military operation began on September 30 at the request of the Syrian government. Breaking news coverage of the start of the operation gathered over 606,000 views.

Two days after the operation began, RT’s Murad Gazdiev gave viewers a tour of the military base in Latakia hosting over 50 Russian aircraft.

This Defense Ministry’s UAV footage gives a cockpit view of a Russian aircraft inflicting surgical airstrikes on the battle headquarters of a jihadist group near Raqqa.

Standing right on the runway, Murad Gazdiev takes a closer look at Russian fighter jets as they take off to bomb ISIS.

This time Murad takes a deep dive into the rebuilt Khmeimim airbase near Latakia, guiding us through mobile kitchens, living spaces, bakeries and even a Russian-style sauna.

The next video from a Russian fighter jet shows another airstrike destroying jihadist installations.

Murad continues to provide us with first-hand information, this time inspecting modern laser-guided missiles, also known as “smart” bombs.

Take a look at what happens when a target is confirmed, the position is right, and a Sukhoi Su-24M bomber sends a payload hurtling down towards Islamic State militant positions.

Next comes a video of suspected ISIS vehicles being relocated closer to mosques and populated sites. Russian authorities have stressed more than once that they won’t target these areas.

Dramatic footage shows warships firing cruise missiles from the Caspian Sea to hit Islamic State positions in Syria.
