Toilet cabinet: Finnish PM forced to fly… in plane’s WC
No seats in business class? Or even coach? Finland’s prime minister, Juha Sipilä, suffered a worse indignity: He had to fly to the northern town of Oulu from Helsinki in the aircraft’s toilet, Finnish daily Helsingin Sanomat reported.
The premier was going to fly to Oulu with his wife, but negotiations in the Finnish capital reportedly took longer than expected due to health and social welfare issues.
The couple missed various flights, and had to resort to catching an emergency services plane that flew to Oulu.
However, there was only one spare seat on the aircraft, so Sipilä courteously gave it to his spouse and spent the hour-long flight in the plane’s toilet.
The embarrassing incident happened about a fortnight ago, but emerged just now, according to the paper.
