RT has been given exclusive access to the rehearsal for Moscow’s V-Day parade. It filmed drone footage of how Russia is preparing to mark the 71st anniversary of victory over Nazi Germany.

Russia’s most distinguished military units, military academies and colleges will march at the traditional event on Moscow’s Red Square, May 9.

The list of armored vehicles that took part in a military parade rehearsal at the Alabino range outside the Russian capital rivals the impressive array assembled for last year’s parade.

Last year’s sensations, T-14 Armata battle tanks, T-15 heavy infantry combat vehicles, Kurganets-25 light tracked armored vehicles and Boomerang wheeled armored vehicles (upgraded) and Coalition-SV 152mm self-propelled howitzers will all create a proverbial big bang at the parade.

A range of Russia’s missile systems are also set to roll out on May 9, among them the tactical Iskander missile complex, Yars mobile strategic ballistic missile complexes, S-400 Triumph long-range air defense systems, and medium-and short-range Tor and Buk complexes.

The parade will also include T-90 battle tanks, BTR-80 armored personnel carriers, a variety of armored personal carriers and new Tigr-M modernized armored vehicles armed with remote Arbalet-DM control weapon stations, bristling with a 12.7mm Kord heavy machine-gun, a 7.62mm Kalashnikov tank machinegun and a grenade launcher.
